The MA7000 Integrated amp for me is best like type who mcintosh produced until today :thmbsp:
But the type can be more better example :dept dimension can be 60 or70 cm, The meters can be more bigger, and dont need a equalizer I LIKE FLAT AMP !
At one mcintosh web site ı see ma 7000 but at another web side on the picture mcintosh ma 7000 look different : Have a 2 transfomer , total 4 heatsink and at middle of heatsink cover is small !
The mcintosh has changed this design ?

Kind of resurrecting an old thread here.... but I havent been on for awhile.
Anyway, yes...im already tired of the bulbs burning out on my 6900, and so far no LED kit from Audio Classics as promised.
Dont forget the high quality binding posts as compared to the less then impressive ie plastic junk posts on the 6900. My $500 Rotel had better. I love my 6900 but was pretty disappointed by them, cheesy for a high end piece of gear regardless of cost but a head shaker on a 5K amp IMO. :thumbsdn:
The MA7000 is a MAGNIFICENT BEAST, I enjoyed taking another look at it. It'd be my #1 choice if I was in the market for an integrated amp. Looks, muscle and the McIntosh sound. Who can ask for more?

I have all my really nice cars parked inside. A couple Ferrari's, a Porsche, an NSX, and a GTR. They even look better than the Ford GT in his picture

What what? LoL He say "beafy" which spelling is "beefy" meaning robust or heavily built. According to Webster, beefy is "heavily and powerfully built, substantial." Bad ass amp is vulgar American double-speak meaning "of formidable strength or skill."
Sound is not bad, but "bad ass" also means "ready to cause or get into trouble" according to Webster at m-w.com

Get it up higher..chest level..much too beautiful to be almost on the floor. Stack the MCD201 and 205 just above the amp.

The MA7000 shelf is 36" above the floor, perfect position. The turntable can't be any higher as I couldn't see the platter properly. The other Mac's are in the right position. The wifey uses the MCD205 as the everyday music source and it is at eye level, perfect for her. The MCD201 is a bit higher than optimal, but easily reached by me. The system is in our living room and I can't have a bunch of wires running around. Everything is nice and tidy.

I've had the MA7000 for about 3 months now, which replaced the MA6500. The MA7000 is HUGE compared to the MA6500, but it looks bad sitting on the shelf. You know this is a serious piece of equipment. The handles look great.
Is that shelving system built into the wall? If so, nice job. The amp is on the hard deck then?
You could also describe the MA7000 as massive and wicked looking!! In this case wicked means "of exceptional quality or degree." :yes:36" is a good height. My amp is 24" from the floor, and that's just a bit low since one has to bend slightly to operate the controls. A shelf height of 40" is ideal for your main unit (depending on how tall you are) since all the controls are directly at hand.

Additional comments on shelf height..
The CD unit IMHO, should be somewhere at chest level so you can easily reach CDs in the tray while just looking down at it. If possible your tuner could be directly at eye level. I'll never forget looking into an MR77 glass ~1975 and seeing my reflection!! It was about the time I became Mc aware.

The shelving is built into the unit. TV on one side, audio on the other. The amp sits on the solid deck as the shelves would no way support 97.5 lbs, but are fine for 25-30 lbs for CD players and turntable. I've got shelving underneath with pull out drawers and flipracks for CD's. Current rotation CD's are in racks on either side of the MA7000. Works for me.
Beautiful unit. Boy, those three transformers are HUGE! How much does it weigh? There are two handle on the front but what is really needed is a way to attach a fabric strap with handles on each side. A friend and I had trouble lifting my MC2200 from each side.
Also, what is that red car sitting in the background, a Ford GT? We need some big pictures of that!!
