Mcintosh MC275 Tube Amp $400 - question

Looks like a scam for sure.

Check the seller's feedback and length of time he's been on ebay.

Each of his 3 feedbacks are from new users with only 1 feedback each. Those 3 "unique" users all joined ebay on the same day, paid in US funds, and are in Lithuania.

Location, location, location.

While all this is concrete evidence of nothing, they're all legitimate enough red flags for me to avoid anything this seller offers at any price.

I don't think a crap auction could be much more obvious.

what's more obvious is that all three of his/her prior auctions ended on 8/26 and all three buyers left feedback on the same day 8/26. 100% scam.

Since used McIntosh sells for about twice over there compared to here you can kind of figure it out.

Thanks,

My friend thinks that eBay's Buyer Protection will save him...anyone exercised that before?

Ebay will not protect the buyer`s money but Pay Pal will. But rest assured it is a scam and the buyer will be ripped off if they send money.

If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

And the seller is in Lithuania, no less.

SCAM all the way :thumbsdn:.

yep - i knew it was a scam - womens intuition not even needed there - mans greediness took over.

anywho - we reported the seller - also used the link in 'slowpats' thread to validate the scam - and was refunded immediately....no interest though.

i wonder if dude in lithuania just gets free money - i guess the effort to set up the account - fake a few sales - and list an item like the amp for 400 dollars must be worth the effort - but what is really lame for that knucklehead is my husband would have pulled the trigger on any amount up to about 1500 dollars....why would seller list it for a ridiculous $400? i should open a scam-school. anywho - take care - sansuigirl

Glad you got your refund without too much hassle.

That's because once in a blue moon, a true deal does show up, and you wouldn't want to miss it !! :D
