Pretty impressive but super-over-the-top for any use I might have (I am not powering Woodstock this week or into the foreseeable future).

I do not expect to be replacing my MAC7200 at this time.

Its been a long time coming and agree I would want white meter too. Maybe a dealer can remove the blue and install clear glass. Look they deleted the noisy whisper fan and from what it sounds like there are no signal transistor to compromise the tube sound. And look not one KT 88's; now we are getting somewhere. Thats what made the original 3500 so special and separated from all the other tube amps MAC made at the time or previously. There are no pesky bias controls or the output selector switch and there is more signal to noise, too. But the 3500 MK I was rated at .15 % and this at .3% but I bet thats just MAC being conservative. I'll have to dig around and see if I have a copy of one of Davie Obien's test sheets on any of the 3500's we used for PA work or sold to a friend in Honduras. Nope, no test sheets. Shucks. I sort of remember about .03 or .04 in the middle, some where a little under .1% at 20 KHZ and 20 HZ. 275's were pretty much the same in the middle being higher in the bass and 3 times that high in the top octave. I also think the 3500 had 10 db more signal to noise than the early 275 made at the same time. But may be wrong on that point.

Here's the original MC3500 distortion measurements from Stereo Review magazine in November 1969. Can't wait to see what the new one measures like, materials used to make transformers have come a long way and these old measurements are spectacular for a tube amplifier.

I understand there have been more orders placed for the new 3500 than the original 193 3500 MK I sold in three years of original production.
