Mlb 2013

The Rockies and Rays are deadlocked at 4 after 6 innings. Good game. Win or lose, I really hope that some form of error doesn't factor into a Rockies loss. So far, so good.

All O's fans are on the edge of their seats today awaiting the results of Chris Davis' MRI on his knee........

Oops, Belisle is usually rock solid. You're right, good game up 'til then:D. Preston

The Rockies went toe to toe with a good team, and with 3 stranded runners in the 8th (bases were full of Rockies with one out) and 2 in the 10th, they came pretty close. Rodney is a great closing pitcher, and his 3 run lead in the 10th faced a tying run at the plate. Can't win them all. They lost the game, but, they didn't squander it. It was a well played baseball game.

Just for the record , as a long suffering Met fan (no I have no expectations of success this year) I realize there are small markets (I mean money not demeaning teams) that have suffered longer and worse the us. Having a poorly run organization in the shadow of the mega spending Yankees for as long as I can remember can leave a bad taste in your mouth. Imagine Cub fans if the White Sox spent 300 million a year an won 20 something world series' and won 90-100 games for the last 20 years straight and all you listen to is "its because White Sox Pride" . Kind of sad. Maybe they'll be competitive in a year or two. Young pitching in the pipeline. Maybe they'll spend a little money wisely. (can't say the locals are all too thrilled with current management, ownership). Have to say with their investment in their market , they're not selling many tickets this year and not making tv revenue. Hopefully they'll sell or decide they have to spend some money to make some money. OK I'm done ranting. Back to our regularly scheduled games.

Angelos, please pick up the phone, we still need a Starting Pitcher, a Second baseman, and now Davis is hurt!

I had no idea that Freddie Garcia (recently of the Yankees) had become an Oriole. Baltimore has been having uncanny luck with bringing in veterans that are a good fit there, maybe Garcia will be, too. When he's on, he's a more than decent pitcher.

Cards win another one in Milwaukee today 7-6. And are 12-6 on the road this season. Freese is starting to swing the bat better. Announced yesterday that closer Jason Motte is out for the season and having TJ surgery. So, that makes Chris Carpenter, Raphael Furcal and Jason Motte out.

They called up a young 21 year old kid who throws hard named Carlos Martinez that looked really talented. He seems to have the stuff to stay up and one to keep an eye on.

I'm thinking that young Mr. Arenado may just have a future in the big leagues. The kid was just called up this week, and, in his first at bat with the bases loaded, facing one of the finest pitchers in the game in recent years (David Price), he drives it over the fence for a game breaking grand slam in the bottom of the 7th. He is solid on defense as well. A very auspicious start, I'd say.

QFT, he's a keeper! Preston

Now that's a great way to start a career and get noticed.

Yep, good luck to young Mr. Arenado. :thmbsp: The schedule says today's Ms vs Blue Jays game starts at 1:06 Eastern time, which should be 9:06 Pacific time, but the little man in the radio just said about an hour & a half before it starts. :scratch2: One of us is confused, and it "might" not be me. :D ;)

Cards score 6 in the top of the 2nd against against the Brewers, all with 2 outs. Looking for a 4 game sweep. For the season as a team they are batting around .350 with 2 outs and runners in scoring position. That will win some games.
