Mlb 2013

Ladies and Gentlemen , the team with the best record in baseball , YOUR 2013 PITTSBURGH PIRATES !!

whew , that felt good .

Congrats to the Pirates fans. I heard on the radio it last happened in 1991.

My Cards seem to be stumbling as of late. Which doesn't concern me too much as it depends on staying in the race through the long season and getting hot and fighting for your lives in September. Who can play at their peak in the end wins the prize.

Let us enjoy it while we can haha.

Rockies rookie sensation Nolan Arenado delivers again with a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th and they take another one from the visiting SF Giants 2-1. Fun game to watch.

I saw they were tied 1-1 in the 9th but hadn't seen an update. Arenado is someone I wish I could watch more of. Congrats on a Rockie win.

Liriano is a moron

So far Liriano has been a great signing for the Pirates. Doing a great job for only making 1M this year. I saw his mistake on 3rd and agree he made a bad blunder, but they didn't sign him for his base running skills. If he is healthy he can be a hell of a pitcher.

Thanks for knocking off the Giants. They seem to be in a tail spin right now.

Hope the Dodgers can take advantage of it tonight, we sure got an ass-whooping last night. :tears::tears:

He looked so lost lol! He's pitching really well tonight.

Yasiel Puig and the LA Dodgers come to Denver for a three game series with the Rockies that starts tonight. I look forward to seeing Puig in a complete game, as opposed to the highlight reels. He's clearly a special player.

It's an important series for both teams. The NL West is, by far, the tightest top to bottom division race in the big leagues this year. The Dodgers are in last place, and only 3.5 games behind the front running Arizona D backs, and only 2 games behind second place Colorado.

Nolan Arenado isn't the only impressive rookie call up of this year for the Rockies. Second baseman DJ LeMahieu was called up in early June, and is hitting .313 and has a fielding percentage of .988, very solid numbers.

The Nationals seem to have maybe broken out of their season-long offensive slump, scoring 13 and 10 runs in their last two games. Bryce Harper hit a home run on his second pitch back from the DL. Werth, Zimmerman, Rendon, Desmond and LaRoche are all hitting very well - finally.

Will he get 60?

He struggled with the Rangers and now... BOOM!!

He might as long as everyone around him keeps hitting but most likely he will end up in the upper 40's-low 50's. O's line-up does not have big names (yet) but they are all pretty dangerous hitters so it will be hard to pitch around him.

While Davis gets people thinking about HR's, Machado is making a run at the most doubles hit in a season. Even in the era of astroturf fields, juiced baseballs and juiced players the current record has stood since 1931.

Picked up a pitcher from the Cubs today so maybe that will stabilize the pitching. Hated to see Arieta go just because he has such a great arm. Hopefully he won't turn into another Dennis Martinez or Curt Schilling who were also O's pitchers that struggled while in Baltimore but did okay once they moved to other teams.

I'm sold on Yasiel Puig. He's everything he's hyped to be, and more. He's 6'3", 245 lbs. and a remarkable hitter, but, the play that amazed me was a simple foul ball that he made a play on that most wouldn't even had a chance to reach. He was playing a mid depth right field, and instantly broke on the ball when it went up. Within three steps, he was on a dead diagonal sprint toward the wall and in toward the dugout. Never slowing down, he snagged the ball about three feet from the wall, jump cut right like Bo Jackson, kept running (even though it was an inning ending play), high fived the pitcher who hadn't even left the mound yet, and beat all his teammates to the dugout. Even the third baseman. That's commitment.

I agree on Puig. He seems to be the real deal, not only at the plate, his arm is a cannon. Not to mention his speed. Fun to watch just to see what he might do.

I'm guessing papelbons's not a fan haha.

“To me, it’s an absolute joke. It’s really kind of stupid if you ask me,”Papelbon said on MLB Network Radio, as he had trouble even saying Puig’s name correctly. “The guy’s got a month, I don’t even think he’s got a month in the big leagues, and just comparing him to this and that, and saying he’s going to make the all-star team, that’s a joke to me. It’s just really what happens in baseball when… to me it really does an injustice to the veteran players that have been in the game for eight, nine, ten plus years, and it kind of does them an injustice because they’ve worked so hard to stay.
