Mlb 2013

So, we won 2 of 3 in B'more, to get back on track. :thmbsp: The sportswriters were saying we were in for a "test" against Boston & Baltimore, & they were right, but we did OK really. All things considered. ;)

I didn't get to watch it because I had to work, but the Cards beat the Reds 15-2. I wish I had the time off to go see the upcoming series against the Dodgers. Dodgers have something like 12 consecutive road games, yikes! The Cards really seem to struggle against left handed pitching and have for years. I think Monday nights game features Kershaw and Wainright. Should be a great game. Have to look and see if it is on ESPN.

That's who is on tonight, sweet. Wainright will need to throw a really good game against the red hot Dodgers. I seriously doubt that Hanley Ramirez will soon return to action, even if he gets a clean MRI today on the shoulder he injured yesterday. Should be a great game anyway.

I hadn't heard about the Ramirez injury. He is having a great year since coming off the DL. I agree about Waino, but he sometimes has a way of stepping up for big games and even though this is a regular season game, it sure has a big game feel to it. Dodgers/Cards are on ESPN Wednesday night also. Fun stuff!

I have been watching to see if they announce the suspension for PED, but I guess nothing official yet. I did see a list of the players and it looks like all involved are Hispanic. We shall see.

That's the first ethnically skewed remark about this tawdry affair that I've seen.

When I saw the names I was just surprised. I hadn't seen who was on the list until today. I have no doubt the taking of this junk covers all ethnicities in sports and figured this list would reflect that. Maybe it is because the bust took place in South Florida where there is a large Hispanic population? I really don't know. My remark wasn't intended to be offensive, just something I noticed when I saw the names.

That was a tight, suspenseful game between two teams that were both missing their best player due to injury. The Dodgers look like a real problem for the rest of the NL with fifty games to to.

Cards ended the Dodgers amazing 15 consecutive road wins last night 5-1. Tonights game will be on ESPN. Haven't looked at the pitching matchup, but it should be a good one.

First pitch of the game, Cardinal rookie pitcher took a line drive off of Carl Crawfords bat and hit Miller flush on elbow of his throwing arm. Didn't look good at all. He was immediately removed from the game. Tough way to start a game. Lots of key injuries this year. Hopefully it wasn't as bad as it looked.

They just showed it during the Pittsburgh game OUCH!!

Cards brought rookie pitcher Blasek in to finish the 1st inning, and tomorrows scheduled started Westbrook comes out to start the 2nd. Gonna be tough on Westbrook getting 15 minutes to go from a day off to basically starting. 3-0 in the 2nd and Dodgers still batting. Beating Westbrook like a drum so far.

Tough matchup last night, Cards pitching was superb, Dodger bats just couldn't get it going. Was close right up to the 8th though.

Ow, bad to see that happen to anyone. Hope he will be ok or that it won't require surgery.

Every team has got to be opportunistic, even when it comes because of an injury. Having Hanley Ramirez out because of his shoulder injury is a big blow to our offense as seen in the last 2 games. So getting 6 early because another starter had to come in really boosts our confidence. But never count the Cards out, that would be a fool's play. :thmbsp:

Well, we beat Toronto today, to avoid a sweep, at least. Now back home to play Milwaukee on Friday. Hopefully, we got that rough patch out of the way for awhile now.
