Mlb 2013

Tigers pulled out their eleventh straight win in 14 innings. :thmbsp:

Only 20k fans at the game? Maybe it's that annoying drum beat that keeps them away.:D

Is this supposed to be some pc bullshit? It was reported that way in a few outlets. So what.

Not on any media outlets I've accessed, not one, over the entire duration of this mess, spanning decades. Was it "pc bullshit"? No, it was a statement of fact.

Shelby Miller is fine and talking about making his next scheduled start. I will be really surprised if that happens. If I got hit like that I would have been crying like a little girl and wanting my mommy and a hanky to wipe the snot off my face.:D

Dodgers take 3 of 4 from the Cards, 7-1 on the road trip, 16-1 on the road since June. And this series win without Kemp or Ramirez.

Now back home against the Rays. Go Blue!

Dodgers Ryu is for real.
I still can't figure out why Mattingly is hamstringing Puig by batting the slowest man in the major leagues before him:)

Cards seem out of kilter compared to how they had been playing most of the year. Hopefully Molina will be back soon. More for the way he handles the pitchers than his bat, but both are missed.

There are several excellent teams rising to the top in the NL. If the playoffs started tomorrow with the Pirates, Dodgers and Braves it would be difficult to pick a favorite to win. All 3 are playing great baseball. But who will still be hot come October? Things can change quickly in baseball.

If I was a Braves fan I would be concerned about running away with the division so early. It would be very easy to start coasting in September and very difficult to turn it back on.

Teams who fight, scratch and claw in Sept. to even make the playoffs can be scary once playoffs begin. Teams that have coasted down the stretch can get disappointed by such teams. It been a great season so far and I look forward to watching how it plays out. Fun stuff.

Very well said, things always get interesting in the SECOND half of the season. :D I still say my Ms might very well get that young player magic going, & it's definitely heading that way. We've held our own pretty well against some of the tougher teams, and learned from our losses, and things "could" gel together just right later this season, when it matters. ;) And if not, I'll root for my old (nearly) home-town Pirates. :thmbsp:

Make that 12 wins in a row! :thmbsp:

Eat 'em up, Tigers! :smoke:

Last night's game also featured a relief appearance for the Indians by former Tiger Ryan Raburn. He got two groundouts and a K in the ninth. Not bad for a position player.:thmbsp:

Tuiasosopo is never going to hear the end of that strikeout! :D

Rayburn seems to have rescued his career in Cleveland since leaving Detroit. Several HRs and game winning hits. At the start of the series, I half-expected him to be responsible for beating the Tigers single-handedly. Thankfully that was not to happen.

The Rockies and Pirates game heated up fast. The Pirates loaded the bases in the opening inning, got four singles, and somehow the Rockies didn't allow a run. That's dodging a serious bullet.
