MLB 2026

The Yankees went from historically good hitting earlier this season to historically BAD hitting recently. Add a zillion errors and you've got a loosing combination right now.
The current slide is 6 losses in a row.

It hurts to not have Judge or Stanton in the lineup. Everything seems to fall on Ben Rice, now for offensive power.

I would hope the Yankees are used to not having Stanton in the line up as he is constantly hurt. He can barely run when he is healthy making him only really suitable for DH. I think they should trade him.
Judge was having a good year but he is another one that can be injury prone.
They played good and won games after Judge went on the IL but the recent lack of performance is baffling especially when compared to earlier in the season.
And not only has everyone forgotten how to hit, they have made a team-record amount of errors lately.

And they just dropped game #7 as I was typing this. Swept by Boston and now swept by Detroit.

At least they won't loose tomorrow. Its a day off.

Do you think that the Yanks will go for Skubal?

I can't say that I've heard anything along those lines. But I really don't think they need anything other than everyone playing the way they all were only a couple of weeks ago. Clean up the errors and put some balls in play.

Wellll now that I'm thinking about it, how's about a decent catcher who can hit?

Man I wish I would have watched the Cubs vs Padres game today.

Final Score.....

Cubs 23 Padres 3

Talk about a shellacking!

The Cubs hit 8 homers in the game.

Almost as good as when the Phillies beat the Cubs 23-21 in '79. Listened to that game on a 'pocket' radio on the window sill of a lab I was working in while I was a college student.

Go Phillies. Skenes vs Wheeler tonight. A real "pitcher's dual".

That does seem to be a priority. Is Wells injured? His stats have really dropped this year. Both offensive and defensive.

He was on the IL earlier for "cervical headaches" if I remember correctly.
I'm pretty sure that both catchers -Wells and Sanchez- are hitting under .200.

Although Ben Rice is also in a current hitting slump, I would put him behind the plate and start Goldschmidt at 1st base.
It can't be any worse that it is now.

Catcher is a pretty tough position to try to get up to speed in the middle of a season.

They should look for a trade or a free-agent catcher.

Two teams that have really turned it on lately are the Cubs and the Phillies. Both teams are on a roll and are looking pretty-awesome. Meanwhile, the Brewers and Braves are starting to look a whole lot more vulnerable than they were earlier.

The Cards helped-out the Phils this week by taking their series with the braves 2-1 in Atlanta. The Cards needed the series to help get thim back on track after a 4-game losing streak knocked them down a notch in the NL Central.

They sure looked good tonight after the Braves were winning 5-3 at the end of the 1st inning. The Cards then shut the door on them and ended-up winning 11-5.

Man the Cards are picking up right where they left off yesterday in Atlanta except this time they are taking it to the Cubs at Wrigley.

It is 14-0 Cards in the 6th!

Yeah the final score today was Cardinals 17 Cubs 1

One day you are the shellackers, and the next you are the shellackees.

Now watch, tomorrow the Cubs will probably destroy the Cards.

It is the prime-time nationally-televised 4th of July game on Fox tomorrow night.

Man the Cards blew it tonight against the Brewers. They were up 3-0 and then their pitching just totally-collapsed in the 7th. It's their biggest weakness.

They ended-up losing 4-3

The freakin' Brewers own the Cards this year. This comes after the Cards just took a series with the Braves and then one with the Cubs. They just can't seem to beat the Brewers and always seem to find a way to lose.

The Yankees managed to split a series with the Rays so they didn't loose any more ground to them.

On a positive note thy just swept a three game set with Washington. The cool part is they came back from behind in the 8th or 9th in all three games.

And now everyone gets a few days off.

I see the MLB powers-that-be have decided to thank all the fans by broadcasting the home run derby on Netflix.

No Arron Judge in the home run derby but Ben Rice will be there tonight. I'm really interested in seeing how he does. Him and Judge were all but tied for homers before Judge got hurt.
