Zilch Thank you for all your Help and turning me on to Econwave's Utterly the best! I have been gone for most of the past year and my membership is also out of date. I encourage all to read his posts and realize we had a Giant among us here! He is a Legend and Altec and Many Speaker Businesses would tell me if Zilch said it It's Gospel.

I hope the E-Waves keep getting built as a tribute to him Mine will be called Zwave's for the Berkley Giant of a human.

Although he was obviously frying much bigger fish, he took the time to answer me newbie recap questions.

I too am very saddened to hear of his passing. I can't believe I didn't read about it until just now. Zilch helped me with my HPM-150 Ewave build and when I mean helped he taught me so much. He helped me up until the end of this past year and knowing now what he was dealing with he was still very prompt with answering questions. I can only think that he enjoyed it so much that it helped make his days brighter. He will be missed and I can guarantee I will never get rid of mine.

RIP Zilch and thank you so much for all your help.
 
RIP Zilch.

I had no idea that he was that ill. Man shows you how even the healthiest can go down quick. Reminds how of my Uncle Jack. He was diagnosed with lung cancer one week and died that next Friday one week later. He was 81 when he died in 2005. He use to run 3 miles a day.

I remember when I first joined Ak way back. I posted a thread about my JBL 62 bookshelf speakers. At that time I had no idea of anything about stereos or speakers. Posted a picture of the JBLs on top of another set speakers I had a that time and the first one to post was Zilch getting on to me about no stacking speakers, haha! Never will forget that. I exchanged a few PMs with him about other JBLs and especially 4430s which I hope one day I will find a pair.

RIP Evan/Zilch, godspeed.

Zilch, you had a presence here and on other forums. While I never knew you or asked for your help, it's obvious by the outpouring of love, that you helped many and touched even more.

May I be so lucky to touch so many lives. You will be missed.
 
Wow, I just found this, I wish I had been around more often lately to have known sooner, God Bless Zilch, less wank for sure. RIP and thanks for the time and help to us all...
 
RIP, just from an audio perspective his contributions can not be measured. The novice or otherwise audiophile that was lost/frustrated, later guided/educated and now a enjoy something (of quality) he had a direct hand in.
 
He will be missed by many. His knowledge, insightn and sense of humor always had me checking his posts on this and other forums.

Thank you to the member that has a tribute to him in their signature. Without it I would not have known and would not have searched for confirmation and found this thread.
 
Just found out that he passed away, after searching for his posts, thinking "gee, I haven't heard from him in a while. WTF!?"

Well, now I know.

RIP Zilch. It's been a pleasure.
 
My god, I've been away for some months, and had no idea...

Please extend my heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends; Zilch made a huge impact on AK, and I’m sure he was equally impressive in “real life”. I always liked to hear his opinions. I didn’t always agree with what he said, but I always respected his input, and his thoughtfulness of why he held his opinions.

A strong man, a great teacher, an impressive innovator. He will be missed.
 
:(I've been so caught up in trying to get back on my feet after finally returning to work that I have not been around for a while. I was so sad to find this thread and my heart goes out to Evan's family and friends. This audio hobby has always been kind of a refuge for me and on many restless nights I would read a lot to escape from the things that had me down while listening to music. I don't think I have seen anyone post on more different discussion boards about speakers than Zilch. He turned up all over the place and has helped so many people. He was a remarkable man.
