Motorcycle engine powered cars

Rather surprised there was no mention of the Morgan three wheeler. AFAIK the Mogs were powered by a motorcycle engine.

Someone say Morgan?

There was a whole class of cars in europe called cycle cars. The Morgan 3 wheeler is probably the most famous. Many of them used a V twin JAP motor.

A guy up the street from me had one. It was an open car of course and when California passed a helmet law for motorcycles, they clasified all three wheelers as motorcycles. He had to wear a helmet when driving his Morgan. He passed away a few years ago (unrelated to the car) I don't know what became of the Morgan.

I forgot another famous cycle car, the Isetta, you know, the car with the door that formed the front of the car. It was powered by a 250 BMW single from the R25 motorcycle. Messerschmit also made a cycle car with tandem seats and an airplane like canopy. I don't know what powered it though.
