Whats the going price on each one of these, they are unrestored as far as belts/rubber, but in great shape.

I guess I don't understand this part of the AK forum. Everyone says check Ebay, then why have this Dollars and Sense part at all. It clearly states in the description of Dollars and Sense, "What's my gear worth? Check out this deal! Is this a good buy? All these questions and anything relating sound to a price have a home in this forum". Maybe it should read, "What's my gear worth, check Ebay". I am just looking for input on value, besides completed sales on Ebay.

Because everybody looks at ebay completed listings. They are the market maker. I would note with irony that it likely took longer for you to type your reply than it would have taken to look up completed sales.

If you are a complete noob and do not know how to use ebay, that is something else.

I have already looked at the completed sales, as I said previously, just looking for more input, (another view ).
"What's my gear worth"

The dragon is worth 1/2 of completed ebay sales if it's unserviced and completely stock- the big money is pulled for units that have been fully serviced. I can't say anything to the 1000.

OP - what's my 55 Chevy worth?

Point is, you've provided nothing more than two model numbers. Therefore SoCal Sam is spot on to refer you to eBay, at which you can make an easy determination based on what you actually have or are looking at.

This is for those that are willing to learn and accept advice. Asking for valuation is for items that are thinly traded, are obscure, and have little to no sales history. The knowledge and experience base here at good ole AK are exception so someone will have experience. For items that have extensive sales history such as the Dragon, you can ask but you will always be directed back to ebay. Maybe I am a little old fashioned but I derive greater pleasure from doing my own homework and not relying on others.

As far as I know, there are no appraisers on site that can determine value without seeing the actual specimen "in the flesh". It's mainly going to be guesswork as to the condition with very little information provided, and no pictures for evaluation purposes.

Actual sold pricing from eBay, where you can also do your homework, is the best resource for determining your component's worth. At best, folks can give you a rough ballpark figure but most would also have to search sold listings too.

If either cassette comes with accessories like JP said, (original boxes/manuals/remote/demag/tapes) and are in VG++ condition but non working the Dragon can go for 600-1000+-* and the 1000 anywhere from 100-600+-*
Getting either of these serviced will take some time and $$ as well so that might effect the price you might offer the seller. Without any pics and based on your very brief description it's tough to be any more specific.

* based on Sold/Completed listings on Eplay

Good Luck.

Good Luck.

Thank You very much!

Ebay completed sales MIGHT be skewed high due to one or two items bringing in more than "the norm". OR-skewed low by low sold numbers due non desireable or not working/beat to crap articles.
AK sales MIGHT be skewed low by the guy who got one free off the curb or $20 at a church sale.

ALSO LOCATION can play a part in what an item can sell for. So where and in what manner it is marketed can also play a part.

So many variables.
