Sorry fellas. I had to laugh at that one. I'm a lover of cats and dogs alike, and I agree that the ad needed to come down. Still, few of us have refrained from laughing at darker varieties of humor. Let me buy the next round...

do we know it has been treated inhumanely though?
cats do get into boxes, maybe he stuck the lid on and took a pic, and then took the lid right back off again, my cat gets into boxes all the time, including the guinea pig habitat which is just essentially a really big box.
side note, my cat will get into boxes smaller than that.
anyway im just saying, the cat doesnt look injured to me, maybe im missing something, I dont think we should just assume its an abuse case. maybe it is maybe it isnt

Regardless of whether the cat was happy to be in the box, it had nothing to do with the turntable he was selling. The pic must've been used for shock value. And, if the cat wanted to be in there, why couldn't he at least leave the lid cracked to show air can get in?
I agree with that. for his sake I hope it was an accidental posting and not his typical behavioral patterns, he wouldnt go far in life with that mindset.
FWIW - I have had many cats and my Teddy is a rescue cat - and is much loved ...
he can't resist putting himself into any small and undersized box we leave around.
I think he's comforted with the box closed all around him.
When I bought the vandy3A, Nelson's cat climbed in a small black canvas bag,
then peeked out, and seemed very happy with himself!
Cats in boxes is nearly a meme ... but ya don't put the lid down on them ...
My guess is the guy just posted the wrong picture and didn't realize it -
Some folks on the web see it as a place to troll everyone and are bored to boot.

The lid was taped shut so the cat could not just get out, that IMHO is cruel. It may have been just for a few secs to take a pic but i'm sure the cat was not aware of that if it was.
