Excellent - waiting for updates

I just pulled one of the very same off the shelf and pointing it at the variac in preparation for a trip to my new tech (a guy I happened on and who went through and fixed my Marantz 2275 - the one that the previous electronics shop had for 8 fricken months, half-assed fixed and charged me nearly $200!)
So tell me about yours and, if there's trouble, I'll maybe have some insight on what's up with mine!

Congratulations on the purchase of your Kenwood KA-6000 for only fifty dollars. If you want some simple update information you can easily find some good threads here at AudioKarma by using the search feature with the keyword Kenwood6000. Good listening!

happy Kenny owner!

I love this thing! It sounds fantastic with my JBL62 Monitors hooked up. I need a better source component as my only extra cd player right now is my Playstation 1, unfortunately, my 1st Gen PSx with the separate RCA connections has a bad laser assembly that I need to replace. But regardless, it has the potential to sound even better. The cassette stage sounds great too! I have a Denon DRA-500 that mates well with it. I love that it is built like a tank. The only issue I have is how harsh the power up is, since the power knob is also the speaker selector. I suppose they fixed this in the KA5002 which has a separate switch. But, it's a minor inconvenience given the sound that this thing produces. It is solid and well built. I'm actually about to connect a Pioneer DV-333 to see if CDs will sound better, which I predict they will. But this weekend I will be scouring the thrifts for a dedicated CD player. I did not get a chance to take pics as of yet, but as they say, patience is a virtue.:music::banana:

weird static

Hey guys, I'm getting a weird static kind of like a bad radio station interfering. It turns off when I switch to speaker "B" or anything other than Speaker "A". It's only when the amp is idle and you can still kind of hear it when a source is playing. sometimes it goes away when I turn it up loud enough. Does it sound like it just needs a good cleaning or something? Otherwise, it's great.:music::banana:
