ha ha ha I love it, I have been bitching about Mac putting digital into a 2 channel tube preamp since the 2500 came out. I think they are listening and now we have a classy 2 channel tube pre sands DAC.

I bet this sucker out sells the 2500 two fold

I have the 1965 (the year I was born) version of the MC-75 monos ... in really nice shape and I wish I could have a new set to compare them to.

I thimk the MC75 are $3750 each for the amps and I think the C22 MkII tube preamplifier is $6000.

I was wondering if they might bring the separate monoblocks back, the preamp is a bonus for vintage Mac lovers. Me, mebbe a yard or estate sale find.

Odd the C22 is the MKII. After all it is the 4th version (at least that I'm aware of. Not counting the C11 which was just a homlier older version of the first C22)

This is the fourth version of the C22 using six tubes and has a feature set close to the C2300. Twin phono sections, MC, MM with adjustable loading. The casework is the best as are the rear panel connectors compared to the original and 1990s versions of the C22. It is also the same width as the current models so you can add D150, Mct450, MR88 to the system and they will all match up.

Ron, on the MC75 are the driver tubes lit up with the LED from underneath like the MC275 VI?

This version of the MC75 does not use the tube illumination. Since the MC275 VI is stereo the red small tube fault illumination that tells which channel has a bad tube is not needed. MC75 has the same Sentry Monitor circuit so the red power LED will flash if there is a tube fault or shorted speaker wires.

$3750 is for a pair of the MC75

In other words just over 10,000 will get you into an all new all mac tube system.:thmbsp:

I really love the analog dials for phono loading. $3750 for the pair is actually pretty good relative to McIntosh - that's less then a 275, right?

A lot less as the 275 is $5,500

And a new entrey level Tube preamp from mac is the C2500 @ $8.700

But now with the the new C22 Mk II is $6,000.
