New tube amp and preamp !!!

Ill take the 2amps but will skip the preamp and use what i have. Now to dig up some money so i can get a pair. This is great news as i love monoblocs.congrats to mcintosh for bringing back another classic amp but it should of been the mc30
This does not seem right. As Ron suggests, I'm certain the pair does not sell for less than a single-chassis stereo version. No way.

Seems to me every time Mac comes out with something new, they leave something off. Now the tone controls are strapped to gether, so you can't adjust the two channels separately. And they must think all records are perfect, so they leave off the filters. If I were looking for a C22 my choice would be the 22 CE. Just a touch noiser, but otherwise OH so much more Flexible. If you want to run MC cartridges use an external pre-pre-amp. I guess you could program your MEN220 to take up the slack on the filters. But there's another hassle. I'm not a tube guy so the C-40 is still my favorite.

As they say in the car business "there is an ass for every seat" Some features that are gone don't matter to some, some do matter to others. I think for a pure analog listener, this is a great way to combine new technology with classic styling. Especially in a time where Vinyl is getting more and more popular every day, this is the perfect for that (the preamp) And those mono block MC75's....well I sure could have used a room of those this winter! Like a warm fire that makes beautiful music!!

Yes, of course. The main difference is that each Mc75 has the same power supply as a single MC275. I would like to say this gives more power but the KT88s are pretty much maxed out as far as power in the MC275 VI.
The mono amps will of course have maximum stereo separation since they are separate.

Yesterday I wanted to order the wonderful C22/MC75 combo, but my dealer told me, that the combo will not shipped to Europe due to current power management and standby power requirements.
I hope this is only a bad joke?!

If I had the need and the money I would be a buyer of this set. I love the retro looks of the C22 and like the simple design of the MC75. It would be a nice match to a VPI Classic table with the polished aluminum platter, wood and black plinth (sorry McTable). DAC would be hidden somewhere. Simple, clean, and elegant.
Btw, what KT88 tubes are Mc using these days in their amps?
