All the bumblebee caps i've run across are film. You'd be better off with a good quality film. An orange drop , Panasonic, Illinois....
Some feel there's magic in old caps. If its in spec and not leaking (tested at operating voltages) i have no problem with leaving them. Otherwise toss and don't look back.

These are both polypropylene film caps. I have a list of Illinois I plan on using for my project, just thought I'd check to see anyone's thoughts on these.... So many options... Lol

I stopped using orange drops quite some time ago as I was experiencing quality issues. Might have something to do with them being farmed out to manufacturers in china..
Nichicon QAP are fine. Not familiar with the PWS series; made in Italy?
I very much like the Nichicon QXP & QXT, and the Panasonic ECW series.
Solen PB & PPE, Illinois MPR & MPW are also fine.

Those look fine. If i can help it, i try to replace axials with axials.
You didn't mention what it was you were were working on. 630v should be a high enough v rating for 99.99% of stuff you'll likely encounter
I believe they are a fairly new series

I just finished going over the Nichicon PWS datasheet.
Everything looked good at first glance; Polypropylene, using metal foil in conjunction with metallized film, heavy tinned copper leads, with very good specs. Hmm, nice...
Unfortunately, further reading revealed that this type uses " internal series connection" construction, which, as the name implies, connects two capacitors in series within the unit. While this may be good from a reliability perspective, and is useful in elevating voltage ratings, I don't feel that this practice is optimum for audio usage. Not for me

This is why I like this place. So many knowledgeable people on here. I think I'm going to stick with the Illinois MPW list I have saved on Mouser.

Illinois MPW's are (were?) an excellent cap at a once very good price. I have used lot's of them, and have never had a problem. Since they were acquired by CDE, the prices have climbed to the point where they really aren't the bargain they once were. CDE has also developed the annoying habit of misrepresenting "classic" products in an effort to boost nostalgia sales.
