These days I'm mostly looking for cool stuff that's hard to find, so I got these:
Micro Acoustics FRM-1s
Don't see these very much, especially local. They've got a very good 70's East Coast sound, not that much different from the Large Advents I had recently.
Sanyo Plus Q25
My first Sanyo Plus component. Doesn't have a headshell, but I'm okay with that for now, because it looks nice in the collection. Has a nice weight to it.

That is an awkward looking high frequency... thing. Is that some kind of tweeter diffusion panel or are those several mini planar drivers or something? A cool unique looking speaker for sure

It's a 5 tweeter array, so it's got a "direct / diffuse" thing going on. I believe they are all a Peerless cone tweeter (if I deciphered the models correctly).That is an awkward looking high frequency... thing. Traded my Klipsch Heresys (which I wasn't using), for some cool toys.

The Technics is a beast that has been recently serviced ($400 worth of work) and it sounds awesome. Kind of ugly (it's slowly growing on me), IMO, but TOTL. The Infinitys are my first time owning any (I've heard them before) with the EMIT tweeter, and they sound good - the ones with a midrange sound a lot better. Bass is the best part of these. The Missions are fine speakers as well, very similar to the 700s I had over the summer. These all go well with my hard to find / unusual theme.
Vector Research VR-3000
Picked this up cheap since I've never had a VR unit, they're hard to find, and have heard they're underrated. Sounds nice and clean. I like the looks.
Also sold my Bose 901 Series IV, so more cash to potentially play with from those.

An update on my other systems:
The Luxman R-115 and Onkyo D-062X's have now been situated in my computer system for a while.
The Lynnfields are now my main home theater speakers, doing a fine job replacing the VR40s. I was surprised at how well the Yamaha RX-A770 can handle them.
The Dahlquists have remained staples, as well as the Marantz SR6000.
The DCM TimeFrame 700s have recently found a home in the dining room system - there was some significant shifting there after the 901s were sold. The Bose 601s and Infinity RSas are hiding behind them for now, and the Polk RTA-12s are still awaiting that binding post work.
The TimeFrames have been steadily moving up my keeper rankings. I had a shootout between them, the Paradigm 3se, Mirage SM-.4, and Mission 732. They were all close. The Mirage were eliminated due to a bit of brightness. The Paradigms and the DCMs had the best imaging, depth, and warmth. The Missions just missed the top tie.
Luxman L-430 and Bang & Olufsen MC120.2s have been a staple for the other bedroom system. I did try the Technics SU-V10X in here and it sounded great, but the Luxman is a bit better.

Of all the gear that has passed through your hads I'm partial to the Luxman L-430 amp, PD-264 TT, and Revel Performa F50 speakers. That would be my system. I sell the rest for a Luxman cdp and good cabling and be done.

That would be a great system. This might motivate me to try the 430 in the main system, because I've been thinking about it - it's definitely right in with the best of the bunch with the separates. It's definitely earmarked as the "downsizing amp" currently, if the need should arise. The 264 would be my main turntable but the auto-lift mechanism annoys the heck out of me. The Revels are by far the best speakers I've owned and I continue to enjoy them. Eventually, I'll get a Luxman CD player sorted out - I have 4, but the only one working is the lowly DZ-92.

The sound is definitely beautiful. I think what I'm hung up on are the design cues from other Technics of the 80s and 90s that I see around thrift stores and such, which are usually not great.

I hear what you are saying. Technics/Panasonic built some truly rotten BPC in that era. But they also built some truly excellent TOTL stuff at the same time. The little known G-Series for example.

A couple updates:
A new Luxman booklet for my collection. This one fills in the 1982 models I've had - TX-101, GX-101, KX-101, PX-101, LX-104, L-430, i.e. the Suckface and early champagne gold series.
I snagged these Mirage Omnisat Micros locally for Atmos Modules in my surround sound system. It was a lot cheaper than buying actual modules of the same quality. Always wanted speakers from the Omni series (mainly the towers) - I do have an Omni S10 sub and had the LF-100 sub that was supposed to mate with these. They sound better than the Polk RM8s I had been using and actually have the proper tilt to bounce off the ceiling. I actually got a third Omnisat, the stands for them, and carpet spikes in the deal.

I invested in this beautiful machine last night. I've sold off enough of my general collection to afford it - this is the one that the gentleman I got my Revels from was powering them with during the demo, so I got a good deal on it. (This time I got to demo it on some massive Thiels.) Since I had sold off so much other stuff, I still have the rest of my Luxman gear as well - as with most major updates, there will be a system shuffle down the line.
Soundwise, the bass is much tighter than with the 02 units- much better control over the woofers. The treble is more laid back. Imaging is stellar, of course. Very nice to have a remote now for volume control as well.
I rearranged my racks to put it at the center of attention.
