Parasound New Classic 200 Pre vs. Model 2100 preamp

Has anyone compared the analogue section of the Parasound New Classic 200 Pre to the older Model 2100 2-channel preamp?
Both are budget preamps to use w/ a 25 year old Arcam Alpha P8 50wpc power amp.

I have the New Classic 200 Pre coupled with the New Classic Model 2250 v.2. Can't speak to the 2100 but the New Classic 200 is a great sounding very versatile pre. On sale it's still not cheap but it's the best I've ever had.

Can you describe it's sound that makes it the best you've ever had.
I'm looking for a clear and detailed sound w/o being bright and fatiguing. With a tight peppy sounding bass too.

One of the biggest differences is separation. On a Bonnie Raitt album background singers where often they get mashed together you can hear each individuals voice. Percussion is outstanding. A brush on symbols, excellent. Bass is well defined no matter the instrument no slop at all. Just crisp sound across the board. Those are my experiences with it. The only way you'll know if you like it is to try one.
What I think of it is no guarantee that you'll like it with the equipment you have. My amp can do 400 wpc and the pre is made to go with it. So quite a bit more power and that can make a big difference no matter what level your listening at.
