Most recent shots of the listening space. This is what happens when you live in 1040 sq ft, each space serves multiple functions. The small 15x14 living room is both the home theater and listening room for my main 2 channel system. Absent now is an analog source. I no longer have a turntable and haven't decided whether I will get one. I enjoy vinyl and have all of the accessories I just can't hack the pitch issues and other speed issues I've suffered with every table I've used. Also the Rega Saturn sounds better to my ears than any of the analog sources I've owned, couldn't say that about the Apollo which is a fine player.

Real nice set up there! The Saturn looks lovely - I'd like to own one myself one day.
What have you got the Devore speakers sitting on? Is it because of the carpet or to raise the height of the drivers to ear-level or something else?

Thank you. The DeVores are on 2 3/4 hunks of plywood. At first it was to get them out of the carpert but I added the second one to raise them a bit and use only 2 of the shims on the front spikes rather than 3 or 4. Sounds amazing!

JB, those AMT's look awesome. How do they sound and compare them to your other speakers.

Changed things around, added and removed some components. Acquired a bookshelf for the albums, got a better TV, swapped my JVC CD player for a Sony DVD/VCR and using my Optimus 50s as the mains. Oh yeah, just polished off a bottle of St. Bernadus Christmas Ale

WOW, lots of nice and expensive systems! I just hope that people spend as much on the room acoustics as in the components.

Yep, my next system upgrade are bass traps and room treatment.

I don't. As I stated earlier my home is 1040 sq ft and the listening room is also the living room where we entertain. I am one who realizes the importance of reasonable room treatment but some compromises have to be made in a small home with no dedicated listening room. Alot of folks are short on space. If we lived in Texas we could afford 2 or 3 times the space that we can here on the west coast.

Looking at your setup... It looks great, and with the bookshelf and furniture you may not need any room treatments.

Thank you. I could use something softer at the point of first reflection, which someday I may do with art...but you are right there are a lot of things in the room that help alot and it sounds fabulous.

DJNAGLE, MARQUEMOON - Thanks for the compliments.

DUFFINATOR - One word "HOLLOGRAPHIC" Though the Canton Speakers have serve me well, nothing compares to the great HEIl tweeters when it comes to imaging I could use some bass though just a little bit more.

AUDIOSOUL - I do have a TT(Technics SL1900) but I haven't set it up yet. I'm still looking for the right phono pre amp or a better TT

I thought i would add some pics of my mediocre setup. Thanks to all who post. In these pictures are Polk R50s, Boston Acoustic A60s, the record player is a Technics SL-1310, Marantz 2385, Marantz 2245, Yamaha CR-820, and a Marantz Model 5000 tape deck. Buried behind the monster 2385 is an Oppo Dvd player I use as my main CDP and a Denon AVR-2809CI for digital enjoyment. This is one hell of an addiction. :huge:

I though that my listening space was nice, but yours make mine looks like ****... :O

I am just beginning... i use to have a 5.1 HT but since i got my gear i barely use it, only 4 movies not 4 music anymore.

My room gear... :tongue:

art k, i hear your pain. i have friends in the midwest who are living in castles that are half the price of decent houses out here...

it's been a long time dream of mine to have a good sized dedicated listening room. my current room is quite small and had horrible reflection problems until using diy room treatment panels in same color as the walls. night and day difference.
