loufortunate

I have an old Pioneer PL-12D turntable and am looking for an owner's manual, or a photocopy of one. Anyone out there willing and/or able to help out?
Thanks a lot...

...get the belt from PIONEER as that table does not like aftermarket belts (yes, they still sell OEM belts). With a Pioneer belt, the PL-12D will hold speed quit well AND is a respectable performer. Still enjoy mine every day!

Good point Joey1127....I bought one last year with a "new belt"......just off enough to not spin the platter with enough torque...

I have a pl-15D II the start switch is the difference. I use the 12d manual. I believe that it is a standard 26"x1/4" belt that sells for $8-$16. I use a 1/4" rubber ban that my mail comes rapped in from the post office. The rubber band is self tensioning and made of natural rubber giving it a non slip quality. It is also silent and does not over tension which could cause egging of bearings. It is 100% on when it comes to platter speed. Best of all, IT'S FREE!

VinylEngine does have a no charge down-loadable PDF file for your TT.

New belt any audio shop.

Cartridge Stanton 600EE, Stylus replacement Stanton D-6800 EEE MK III $70, Same as stylus in Stanton 681 EEE MK II $129, Grado recommends using a Grado Gold cartridge $220 (Gold = the best 5% of testing and Silver ($169) = the best 15% of testing both hand made)) Grado Green $40 mass produce by machines. The prices are approximations of what I have found advertised on the WEB.

They do require a small preamp of some type $30 - $3K (lol).

I Like it!
