Pioneer PL-61 anti skate?

I have a very nice Pioneer PL-61 that I’ve cleaned up for sale.
A potential buyer asked me if I serviced the (magnetic) antiskatong.
Is this an issue and how would I check it out?

To check anti-skating, float the tonearm (turn counterweight) so it's floating above platter mat. Turn the anti-skating knob. Tonearm should move back toward the arm rest.

I started playing with the TT tonight and found that their was friction in the horizontal motion.
I tried working it back and forth and putting a drop of lubricant in there to no avail.
Recommendations?
