I have a few vintage decks, mostly Thorens and Dual but this is definately my best sounding TT currently located in my primary 2-channel system.

Thorens "New-Line" TD-810
J.A. Michell weighted TP-250 tonearm (Thorens tweaked Rega 250)
Benz Micro Ace cartridge (blue)

goes into (via DIY 5N silver interconnects)
1960 Harman Kardon Citation IV preamp and Citation II power amp combo (both "McShane'd")
and piped to a pair of 1976 Klipsch LaScalas with DIY ALK universal (gentle slope) networks
Works for me!

WopOnTour

Ahhhh... another SRV fan.. Stevie Ray Vaughn sounds so good on vinyl.

Updated configuration.

Same TT, changed set-up to shorten cable run.

Pro-Ject 6.1

ClearAudio Aurum Beta S Wood

Sitting on a 20lb "Sandbox" mounted on Vibrapods.

Amp-McIntosh MA6900

Speakers-Altec Lansing A7, 500hz crossover (DIY with Jantzen and M&R),
416-8b-LF, 902-8t-HF,
Fostex Ribbon used as supertweeter.

Definitive Tech 15" Subwoofer.

Pretty happy with this set-up.

here's my thorens with black widow.

All right! This is an arm I've oftened thought about putting on my TD125 MKII. Do you know what the effective mass of the Widow is? Really killer combination, aesthetically at least - but I'll bet it sounds great too.

Gogofast, nice rig. Is that Black Widow a foot long?
am i at Subway?:D oh, i will get the foot long turnkey with pepper jack cheese.:D

i haven't measured it, and i'm at work right now, but it's the earlier version black widow.

gogofast, What is the clamp?
nothing special, i can't remember the name, but there's a seller on ebay who sells these new. got it for $35. it's solid aluminum. it works better than my clearaudio and other clamps.

i heard it's around 4g or less. i'm using AT-440ml and V-15 with it. sounds great.:thmbsp:
there's detailed info at the vinylengine. here's a link: http://www.vinylengine.com/library/infinity/black-widow.shtml

Look on the vinyl engine site, or I can post it when I get home. I am not using my Black widow right now, but I cant bring myself to part with it. It is a VERY low mass arm, as you may have assumed.

The effective mass of the black widow is 3 grams. This site provides the available resonance frequencies. If you use a lower compliance cartridge it better be very heavy.

1) VPI HW-19 Mk III w/SAMA, Audioquest PT-6, Clearaudio Arum Beta wood-body.
2) Kenwood KD-500, Infinity Black Widow, Grado Reference Platinum

Technics SP-10 MKIIA, with a LOCI tonearm and a Grace F-9L cart.

BTW, the LOCI is one of about 60 ever produced and is based on 2 arms, the Dynavector DV-505 and the Vestigial arm from the Transcriptor Skeleton TT. Rarely even seen. Any questions please just ask. :thmbsp:
