My table has had a few more changes since the last time I posted. I swapped my 9" arm for a used Classic arm with Discovery wiring directly through VPI. I added HR-X feet and a new Soundsmith cart. This is definitely the last iteration of this table. No more table changes unless I can figure out a way to afford a Classic 3 in rosewood.

Thanks - I also added EAR damping material between the plinth and the metal plate on the bottom of the plinth. The damping material gave it a deeper, richer sound. I am very happy with the set up.

My favorite part is the on-the-fly VTA. It easily adjusts for optimum arm angle on my '80s paper-thin LPs to today's 200gm LPs. It is really neat to hear the sound go from a flat, so-so sound to a clear, rich sound with just a few twists of the dial.

I just bought a rosewood Classic 3. It should be here early next week. I'll have to use my Blackbird for a while, but I really want the Lyra Kleos cartridge. I'll be keeping my Thorens TD-350 w/SME M2 tonearm, and will finally have two turntables in my system. I'll post some pics when I get it all put together.

I upgraded my Planar 3 from the mid 80's with a new Rega motor, TTPSU, a RB700 arm, a GrooveTracer reference subplatter, The HeavyWeight counterweight and finally put a Van Den Hul Two cart on it that had been re-tipped. It went from being an average table to superb piece. Most of the mods got rid of any vibration getting to the stylus from the plinth and motor, and it sounds fantastic.

Here's a pic of my Thorens TD-145. I have a Stanton 681 cartridge on it. Over the years I've tried out several tables. The most noteworthy were a Technics 1200 and a Project Debut III. This Thorens has been my favorite because it sounds great and performs well, and I really like the automatic lift-off feature. I tend to get lazy

Yes it is. Skylab has several complete systems he has collected. His vast Pioneer collection looks like they are all new.:thmbsp: his R2R tapes on the Tape Swap here sounds Great I finally went MC and I am upgrading my analog rig now.

Hey Rob it's a AT-OC9ML/II I was really surprised how nice it sounds on Pop's old Pioneer PL-518X.
