Well, as much as i love my new Music Hall, i would feel a little embarrassed posting a pic of it along with all the über tables in this thread. It does quite a swell job, but i'm sure it would get the beans beat out of it by most of what i've seen here.
Just recently, my oldest son and i conceived an idea. Designing a TT...a one-off type thing, with very exotic, low resonant woods. Most have been drying 120+ yrs. Obviously, we would have to turn to other makers for things such as tonearm, motor, platter, etc., but it sounded so fun as we discussed it. Of course there is much to learn, but oddly enough, the maths from my Astrophysics degree will really come in handy.
Of course, we may also just talk about it for years...sometimes a person needs to recognize that a project too many is a chore, rather than pastime. Still love thinking of it. i also know a keen granite worker, hmmmm, maybe someday i will have a post on here.

Picked up a new (to me, 2nd owner) B&O RX w/MMC3 cart in NM condition. Been wanting a MMC deck (being as I can get a decent new cartridge).
Lousy picture, excellent deck.
Very elegant looking TT!

Thank you, sir. I have it's predecessor in my home office, the Beogram 1800 (purchased new by me 1982), and have always enjoyed its performance as well as its aesthetics. They are nice-sounding machines. This one came up on my local Craigslist at a price I just couldn't resist... and I tried!
I'll get a better photo up soon.

Oh, its definitely cool to see the high end ones, some probably cost more that my observatory. It's like going to a HotRod show at Sonic, and seeing all the machines you dream of...i could see one day selling out of my astro equip as age and disability conspire to keep me less active, and investing it more into Audio and Oil Painting...but man, i love my scope and all its gadgets.
i don't mind looking at all the eye candy...just figured posting a MH might be a bit redundant, but once i do the last touches and clean up on my system, i will definitely post pics of the whole mess.
