They are all nice, just a pisser to work on if something breaks. But hard to find fault with, other than the price to replace the cartridge. Look like nothing else, sound really good, what else do you need? Sold them for years, currently have a 3400.

I have a 3400 in the garage, one that I gave up trying to fix. :-(

Apparently. Can't remember where this idea came from. There's probably more than necessary and if tuned just right it's helps stop the ring. A tuning fork theory. :scratch2:

I believe the O-ring tweak was recommended/suggested/used by Arcorob or FrankSol. I use the O-ring tweak on my SL-1200's and ATPL120 and ATLP240 tables and it really does help "quiet" the arm.

It's the Technics SL-120 armless drive, always wanted one of these. Usually comes with a tonearm base cutout to mount an SME 3009. I think there are also bases for other brands. Since my 3009 Series II is already in use in my Garrard 401, I’ve fitted this one with the complete arm of an SL-1200MK2 instead



I'm most probably not the first one who joined these, but still.. a bit special. Now to find a better cartridge. The M44-7 is just so-so, imho there's room for improvement.

I like the o ring idea! I have the ATPL120.. how many O Rings do you have on your tonearm and is there a better spot to place them if I only put 1 or 2 on?
