This is what I started on. Was bought for a dollar.
1982 Yamaha XZ550 Vision
Watercooled, 4 valves per cylinder, shaft driven. Was a blast to ride but the carbs were a pain and parts were near impossible to get.

After getting it finished after a working on it for a year and half it still didnt work quite right. My wanted to go for a ride on what we thought was a good running bike. After a quarter of a mile it died.

My wife got off of the bike and said " thats it we are getting you something else."

My 1983 CB1100F

I believe that was the father of my last motorcycle, a 1985 Nighthawk S. (CB700S) Not my bike, but it was exactly like that. I didn't have a digital camera when I sold that one.

Before that was a Honda XL250R that was a hoot no matter where you rode it. Before that was my fave, a 1984 Honda V45 Sabre. Somewhat like this but mine was black/red/grey with a 1/4 fairing. It had been jetted and had a tuned Kerker exhaust and was waaay faster than expected.

I got almost run over one to many times and decided to lay off for a while. Got hooked on the "other" bikes. My baby is a Klein Rascal that I've rebuilt from the ground up. Love that bike. Here's one of me enjoying it on the Flume Trail at Lake Tahoe.

Bikes are just fun guys.. Those who ride know what I mean.
Untill you have been hooked by two wheels ...(and maybe some brothers to guide you)..you will never know.
Its just allot of fun.

Nice bikes...sorry to hear you're off of two wheels, delihaus.

We pared down before our move, and only have two bikes living here right now, an '88 Honda Hawk GT and a '91 Honda Nighthawk ("NotHawk GT").

The first Hawk pic is from Skyline Drive in Shenandoah- the pale, blue hill on the horizon over the hump in the seat is the hill we now live on. The second pic is a closer shot of it in our driveway.

The CB750 pic is in Marshall, CA, soon after we bought it. It's gotten a few mods since then & handles very nicely for the two-up rides.
