thanx for taking a guess, OP. when i opened that pic on my computer, it occurred to me that it could have been taken in any number of far more exotic locales than where it was actually shot-- that being in Oak Cliff, Texas, across the Trinity from Dallas (actually we're in Dallas now, but we Cliffies have a way of thinking we're still separate), birthplace of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Ray Wylie Hubbard; former hometown of Lee Harvey Oswald and location of the Texas Theater; burial place Clyde Barrow; and too much more to even get into...

I figured it was at least in the western half of the US because of the trees. I guessed CA because of the oak. If it was in Europe the lawn would've been more precisely arranged and manicured and they wouldn't of had that funky fence and gate.

i don't know how interesting this one is, but it is one of faves in our neighborhood, right around the corner from the Mediterranean looking one. it is built on the lot where a childhood friend's home was built; i think it is a superb combination of Texan architectural vocabulary with modernism. can't see much of from this angle, but gives a flavor

forgot to ID the fotos-- first one is an old Texas home cookin' greasy spoon kinda place famous hereabout and known as Norma's, a 'meat and three' kinda place--was a set location for a recent episode of Prison Break...shot by my friend JR Compton, as were the next two.
next one Sylvan Ave northbound from the Cliff and about to ascend the southside berm of the Trinity River embankment. on the far side is a the top half of a luxury hotel from the 80's along I-35, about a mile or so from the downtown.
last one is a pelican in flight at Dallas favorite urban oasis, White Rock Lake.

An install I particularly liked at the last car show around here.
The front stage was a pair of Alpine Type X's in fiberglassed door pods, didn't sound too bad although they could have been better aimed.
