The moon has been visible from my balcony of late. Needed to get some shots before it's somewhere else.
It's a challenge. The sunlight bouncing off it looks simple, but it's not as straightforward as one would think. I'd like to be able to capture the color of the sky around it and the ring that can be seen illuminating its full diameter. I need to review some of the tutorials on editing moon images. I've forgotten much of what I learned last year already. It's generally not like editing any of the other styles I shoot.
This is ok, but I want better.
Shot with a Sony A7R IVa, 200-600 zoom, 2X converter, tripod, yadda yadda yadda.
Oh, I did have an ND8 filter on. I think it helped temper the brightness of the moon somewhat. I know I can probably get around using it, but thought I'd try it anyway.
