Prices.... Going Up!!!

Brother just warned me that vegetable oil will probably double in price soon. Soybean oil normally trades around 30 cents@ lb, and tickled 70 cents today.

I guess groceries in general are going to be pricier soon. Joining construction materials and fuel. Just the way it's gonna be for a while.

I use coconut oil for almost everything. Much healthier. Guess I'll order a few more jugs.

It's not really bad for you
And that's the main reason I use it. Many other oils (corn, canola, etc.) either give me severe heartburn, or do a number to my digestive system. I recently ate some delicious chocolate banana bread that my niece had given me. I was up all night, in agony. Knowing her financial situation, I'm sure she uses the cheapest oil (probably canola) she can find. I make banana bread, brownies, cookies and several other things using coconut oil, with absolutely no problems. I know what my system likes, and what it doesn't.

Webmd, like the FDA, has close ties, and is financial beholden to the pharmaceutical industry. There's no money for them in natural products. Of course they're not going to promote them. Dig a little deeper for info on coconut oil. It may not be the panacea that some claim, but it certainly does less harm (thus healthier) than some of the more popular, highly marketed oils. Tastes better too. ;)

Coconut oil is great for popping popcorn too.

Meat is going up, too.
Paper goods, you name it....

Inflation is yet another by-product of this past stellar year and a half. :(

Please. I could have quoted other sources. You believe what you want to believe. I will not go down conspitorial alley with you. An oil that turns into a solid at room temp? OK.
Harvard Medical - are they part of your consiracy too?

Anyone thinking of injesting this stuff, please do your research and weigh the pros vs cons. Done.

What's the source of the info on that, the vegie oil? Or is it just speculation?

Bro is in ag marketing - mostly corn and soybeans and stuff derived from them. I just assumed soybean oil is a major component in many/most veggie oils. Am I wrong?

Soybean oil is a commodity, like oil, gold, corn, wheat, etc., that's traded (futures market) on the CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange). Between May 2016 and Nov 2020, it traded in a range between $0.27-$0.38 (per pound). It broke out of that range in Dec 2020 and has been climbing since. It closed Friday at just under $0.60.

Wondering will that influence the price of other oils as well as I don't use veggie oil at all?
