Hi Fenando... I have also encountered this confusion with my MX-121... However, it turned out to be user error, not a problem with the MX-121. So, don't panic. Are you trying to connect to a TV or something using the ARC HDMI channel? If so, I'd turn off ARC control on both your TV and the MX-121 (see page 26 of the MX-121 manual). If you want to describe what you're trying to do with the HDMI-out, perhaps we can help you further.

Hi

It is not anything ACR control these parameters okay, I was just watching a films by the projector and suddenly I stopped seeing, I reinitiated, installed the firmware, without success.

Greetings.

So the MX-121 feeding your projector WAS working and just stopped without you doing anything? Have you tried hooking the MX-121 to a different HDMI device such as a TV or computer monitor to see if it's something wrong with the projector?

I have found that the McIntosh home theatre components are extremely static sensitive. Is it wintertime where you are located? Could you have touched the MX-121 with static electricity in your body, thereby blowing out a static sensitive electronic component? I had this happen a couple of years ago with my MX-119. With the help of the MX-119 service manual and a bit of advice from McIntosh's repair technicians in New York, I was able to remove the board, replace the "blown by static" integrated circuits, and fix the problem.

Hi feinstei

The projector works perfectly with another source, and configuration is not the fault in the MX 121, the only option is a failure in the pcb hdmi, I think.

Greetings.

Yes, unfortunately, it seems as though you'll have to get it serviced. Audio Classics might have a faster turn-around than McIntosh itself. You may want to call McIntosh customer service and then ask to speak for a moment to one of the repair technicians there. They may have run into your problem before and be able to tell you exactly which board or IC circuit has failed. That's what I did and I was able to take my MX-119 apart and service it myself at a cost of < $20 in parts.

I have this exact problem. I dropped it off at the only place in Austin that services McIntosh and they said the HDMI board is bad but can't get a part so they said, come pick it up. Uhhh.... I paid a lot of money for this thing to be bricked by an HDMI port? No way. What did you guys do to fix it?

Both of my HDMI outputs failed in the last 3 weeks. Haven't tried getting it repaired as yet, but I do believe there might be an option to at least get the onscreen menu back by using a component to HDMI converter. Curious to know if anyone has tried this approach.

Haven't had any problems with my MX121, but with the all-too-soon obsolete features in a home theater processor as well as lack of parts means I probably won't have another Mc one. Any brand will have the same issues, will just buy something almost as good (preferably not rebranded with a Mc case and Mc tax) at a much cheaper cost. It doesn't make sense for me to spend big dollars for something that is out of date five years after.

I'm not a retail Mc customer to begin with, nearly always purchased used as I prefer to let folks with more $$$ take the big unboxing hit.

I will keep my Mc stereo amps and preamps as they are a much better long-term value.

I have had good success with converting Component @1080P (RGB) to HDMI @1080P resolution, but not for the reasons of a failed HDMI input.
In my HT setup I keep my video signal`s switching separate from my Integra surround sound processor by using a 5X1 HDMI video input selector for selecting my HDMI video sources to my projector.

Yes, I have to use two remote controls when changing HDMI video signal source inputs : 1 for the HDMI source selector and then the Integra A/V/P`s one to select one of it`s analog audio inputs that`s used with that different selected HDMI input.

I prefer keeping the video signals separate from my audio signals for less chance of any potential interference from the digital video affecting the audio.

You can try going to markertec.com and see what they offer in the way of quality Component video to HDMI video scaler/converters, if you wish.
I`ve been using markertec.com for most of my HQ video needs for over 15 yrs. and am a very satisfied customer with all dealings that I`ve had with them.
Good luck with your pursuit, Duane.

Thanks. I only have 3 sources and 2 of the 3 were connected directly to the HDMI inputs on the OLED. When the HDMI outputs failed, I connected the 3rd source directly like the others. But, I really liked having the onscreen menu vs. using the small front panel display on th MX121 for the menu options. So I picked up an inexpensive component to HDMI converter from Amazon to see if it would work. After much fussing with it, I now have the onscreen menu back in all of it's glory.

So anyone owning an MX121 with bad HDMI out ports and looking to get the onscreen menu back, this does work.

I have the same issue. I've searched and searched for a replacement HDMI board with no luck. I've tested my MX122 HDMI and everything works except the HDMI OUT function properly. Contacted McIntosh about it and they offered to send me a new board for $1,000.00. I can't tell you what I said here, but I'm still without any HDMI output on the MX122. Any help would be very appreciated.
