Problem with hifi and vinyl engine?

They were probably spammed, hacked, or otherwise attacked by someone originating from an IP address similar to yours (perhaps located right in your neighborhood). IIRC, Vinylengine.com/HifiEngine.com are known for blocking wide swaths of IP addresses when this happens. If the range of blocked IP addresses happens to include those doled out by the DHCP server in your area, then you're out of luck unless you have access to a remote proxy server that you can use to work around the block.

If this is what has happened then using the IP address above (see redcoates7's post) instead of the http://www.hifiengine.com URL will not help you.

I get redirected to Google. Someone in the Turntable forum was having the same issue and getting redirected to Google too. There is definitely an issue with something in their server or the way its DNS server is setup or we are just being blocked.

Works fine here, in Arkansas. By the way, be careful downloading anti-malware/spyware programs. Many of those will saturate your computer with mal & spyware.

Also, if you are on a site and a window pops up (that is not your regular anti mal/spyware program) saying it has found mal/spyware on your computer, and is downloading a fix that you can't stop by clicking on the closing X at the top...shut your computer off immediately, with the power button on the back of the Power supply, or unplugging if you must. When you restart your computer, see if you can find the program that was forcing an install in Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs, and delete it. If you got your computer turned off in time though, it probably won't be there.

Still down for me. Can anyone dig up a email that I can contact either website?

Unfortunately, to contact the Webmaster, you need to be able to access the site(s) - I couldn't see any other routes in - but then I don't have an account on either.

Can you ping the IP addresses of the 2 sites ? or does that time out?

Can't help feeling this is a problem with your Service Provider OR a local problem (however induced) with your PC(s) or local networking setup.

Tricky problem.

Don't know if it helps, but the FAQ says this:

Why am I redirected to Google when trying to access the site?
The site uses several security measures to deal with spammers, hackers, port scanners etc
When a connection is requested your IP address is checked against the dynamic and permanent IP ban lists and redirected to Google if found. This does not automatically mean that your account has been blacklisted, it may be that you share an IP address with an offender. If you have a dynamic IP address, reconnecting may fix the issue.
Note that use of proxy servers is not recommended as these are regularly used by forum spammers and are routinely blocked when found.

I also don't see any way to contact them except by posting on the sites.
