I always have pondered why so many people bitch and hate having to get up day in and day out to go work for someone else so they can survive, yet no one else has figured out a better system..

Because there is no reason a blind technician could not do maintenance
work on such equipment...

Ever heard of dogs trained to guide blind people? The dog can take you
to the door, but you still have to read the number yourself. Also if
you work in the place, you learn the number of steps from the elevator
to your office, and the like. I am glad I am not blind, however
it would be wrong to write off the blind as useless, improductive people.

I'm not writing off bline people at all. I see quite a few of them walking the streets in DC and Old TOwn Alexandria, and I am so amazed at how well they get around.. I can't even imagine how they do it. Never thought of the dog taking them to the door, then them felling for the sign... I've never known a bline person, so I'm pretty oblivious as to how they do things we take for granted.
