You Only Live Twice - Scripted by Roald Dahl, Theme Song sung by Nancy Sinatra ...
It features Sean Connery in Japanese makeup (sort of), The Toyota 2000GT sports car,
Little Nellie (the suitcase gyrocopter), and ninjas dropping down inside the volcano ...

Hated Roger Moore as Bond ...

That said, I do like Daniel Craig as the contemporary Bond ...

I liked "For Your Eyes Only" because of the settings in the Dolomites and the Greek Isles. At the time I first saw it, I skied frequently in the Dolomites and went to the Greek Isles every summer.

Plus, the villain (played by Michael Gothard) looked like Warren Zevon.:D

What, no love for Roger Moore? Just kidding. You Only Live Twice.

A great line from another Bond movie: He had a lot of guts.

Ha!! I never visited those parts of Greece, but agree. Probably my favorite Moore Bond.

I like Bond films so it's hard to rate them. The only one I've never made it through is OHMSS, but there's a lot who think Lazenby was the truest portrayal to Fleming's Bond.

Well, "Dr. No" is THE classic Bond film. A must see.

One with less of a following but good in it's own right is "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" with George Lazenby. It is a good movie (maybe in spite of Lazenby rather than because of him.)

If you want to add Roger Moore, how about "Live and Let Die?" It has several things going for it. First a fantastic set of opening vignettes. An opening title sequence by Sir Paul. Roger Moore before his Bond performances became total comedy spoofs of the Bond character. Unfortunately, it has already started down that path with the chase scene and Sgt. Pepper. So now it is only a partial spoof.

"Skyfall" was a much grittier Bond movie and probably closer to the spirit of the novels.

Speaking of spoofs there is always the "Casino Royale" from 1967 staring David Niven. Worth seeing even if it is non-canonical.

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is my favorite. And the book is even better.
Great realistic plot, Action, Suspense and a very sad ending...
With beautiful Diana Rigg at her best

Second favorite is You Only Live Twice.
Third- From Russia with Love (with Colonel Klebb's fancy footwork)
Fourth- Thunderball

My favorites, in no particular order (except for the first): OHMSS, the classic Connery films, LALD, License to Kill, Goldeneye, Casino Royale (not the 1967 spoof), and Skyfall.

Dr. No first..... but you guys are crazy with the other ones you've picked :)

Thunderball for the #2 slot, followed by Goldfinger and then From Russia With Love. Roger Moore movies don't qualify to make list IMO. :D

Wah-WAHHH-Wah...Goldfingahh... He's the Man, the man w/the Midas touch.... Like I said before here, its just SO.."Over the top", in every respect.. WHO, in antebellum 1964, would have DARED name a major character, "Pussy Galore ?!?" They ruined a brand new Mustang convertible, squashed a brand new Lincoln, destroyed a bunch of Mercedes. And, while it was really long before Moore ever turned Bond into a wisecracking smartass, it still had quite a bit of humor in it. Connery got off quite a few good zingers of his own. And I remember watching it as a kid, LOVED it then, & I still love it now as a Grouchy Olde Pharte... Next one would likely be "Diamonds are Forever" from '71. Right, Mr Kidd ? ABSOLUTELY, Mr Vint...

"Dr. No" with Ursula Andress and a nice job by "Hawaii 5-0" Jack Lord. Also loved the guitar in "The James Bond Theme" on the soundtrack.

My favorite Roger Moore would have to be "Live and Let Die" because of the theme song and the wild Geoffrey Holder character. I didn't like the cheesy effects in the death of Yaphet Kotto.

For Pierce Brosnan, I liked "GoldenEye".

Didn't like Timothy Dalton at all.

Daniel Craig's movies aren't bad, but I just don't see him as Bond. I read all the books when I was young and got a picture in my head of what Bond looked like and Craig wasn't it.

Fav must be The Spy Who Loved Me. Although, liked all the Roger Moore ones best... In my book,he was the best Bond.

Live and Let Die is #1 for me.

Names is for tombstones baby.

Ten fingers on the fender...

Secret agent? On WHOSE side???

Then maybe Man w/the Golden Gun & Goldfinger can fight it out for #2 & #3 spots.

I love the corkscrew jump in MWTGG,for a kid watching that, well lets just say it was EPIC and off the charts on the "cool factor".

Beyond those three, stack them up any way you want, wont matter to me.

For Connery / Goldfinger
For Moore / View to a Kill
For Dalton / License to Kill
For Craig / SkyFall

Connery's best film: Goldfinger (tough pick over From Russia With Love)
Connery's best performance: Thunderball (he's at his absolute peak here)
Moore's best film: For Your Eyes Only (fabulous locations, realistic plot)
Moore's best performance: Same (Roger plays Bond pretty straight and serious here).
Dalton's best film: License To Kill (better than The Living Daylights)
Dalton's best performance: Same (it's too bad he didn't do a few more films)
Craig's best film (so far): Casino Royale (soooooo much better than the overrated Skyfall)
Craig's best performance: Same (his onscreen time with Eva Green rivals Lazenby/Rigg)

Lazenby did a remarkable job in OHMSS considering he had no acting experience, but this was one of the best films in the series.

And then there's Brosnan. Did he really play James Bond or did he just amplify Remington Steele? I thought all four of his films were awful. Goldeneye is ridiculously overrated.
