Rob passed this morning at 3am. His suffering is over. I hope he finds the peace and meaning he wanted so much

Very much so. What an ugly disease. As others have said, glad that he no longer suffers.

Very sorry to hear of his passing. I've not been on AK a lot recently due to my own struggles, so wasn't aware his condition had deteriorated so much, though I had previously seen his post about being treated for throat cancer. At least his suffering is over, as it sounds like he had a difficult go of things there at the tail end.

Living alone is a rough gig when you have serious health problems, and it was tough reading about how he was found. We all need to try and do better at checking in on relatives and friends who are faced with similar circumstances, so that they don't end up going days (or longer) without aid.

Just a quick update, Rob's ashes were spread on his property at his request. He is back home

RIP, Rob.....you will be missed, brother, but your spirit has taken flight and still blesses us with its presence. We'll all be "walkin' you home" before you know it, and what a beautiful stroll that will be......until then, carry on, amigo

For a relatively short time, he was part of our lives, embracing the short time that he had left, relishing in the intimate "connection" that he had with the rest of us on AK. And within the "dialogue" that transpired, he strenghthened the need to embrace our lives, and to remind us of the shortness of our existence of our times on this planet.

Also, he taught us how to deal with the rough/tough times that sometimes we experience in the time just before we move on to the last stage of our lives, and how to endure all that goes with this final stage, and to do it in style.

Rob may no longer be with us in body, but he is now part of us, as all of us remain on the journey of what is to be.

Thank you Rob for the short time with you, and for some of life's lessons you left with us!


You remain will remain in our hearts and mind... always.
