SA-8800 Oscillation?

Oscillation is caused by instability - in these amps, the driver transistors are "tamed" with a small value capacitor across the Collector and Base. IIRC. The oscillation sometimes is down to poor substitution of transistors. This changes the characteristics of the circuit enough to require adjusting the negative feedback network. Although in other cases, simply connecting the oscilloscope probe to the amp, will cause the oscillation itself. I discovered this when probing the amplifier either side of the inductor present at the output.

Either way, it would be better for you to start your own threads rather than dragging this one out more.
