Should I upgrade my table or replace it?

I'd look at the 202, it's direct-drive, the 210 is a belt-drive. Be sure to check the auto-return function. Does it come with a cartridge? If it's in good condition, works properly, and is in your price range, go for it!
 
The 210 is belt drive and the D202 is direct drive. Both are on the lower end but of the two, I'd lean towards the SL-D202.

Either table - if running properly, with a decent cartridge, set up correctly - would make a perfectly serviceable table.

What cartridges are on each table?

Can you listen to them and/or will they give a three day money back warranty?

I know the owner of the shop if I have any problems I could return it with no problems. D202 has a white and green at cart on it SL210 has a slim Ortofon cart (gonna say no to belt drive though).
 
I'd say that's slightly high, but not bad at all, esp if you know you can trust the seller. And that's not high if it's been cleaned/serviced/lubed, etc...

I'd go for it.

Oh wow. It's got a few scratches on the dust cover, otherwise it's in great shape. Sounds like a pass to me. Unless I could bring them down on the price.
 
But... but... if you're actively looking for a such a table, I wouldn't let $20 or $30 get in the way of a table you actually want. You are unlikely to get an 1800 for less than $200-ish and if I had a $250 budget, that 202 and the Nagaoka cartridge in a month or two would tick all my boxes.
 
If instant gratification is important to you, take it home and check it out. What's the worst that could happen? You might like it? And you would at least have something decent to listen to while saving for what you really want, as well as a good trade-in.

It depends how much you want to spend and how much of a hurry you are in. If you watch CL like a hawk, good deals pop up, at least around here. I bought a Technics SL1300 MK1 and a Pioneer PL550 in VERY nice condition, for $100 for BOTH.

If he wants a good TT ,like NOW, the SL D202 isn't a great deal, but not a terrible deal either. The dust cover can be sanded and polished to look like new.

I'm in no hurry lol. The M44E certainly isn't terrible (expecaly with the new stylus) so I'm good for a minute. Was just curious if either of the tables that are here would be worth checking out. Seems the price is a tad high so I can wait. Just pick out a few good albums and enjoy the 44E for a little longer until I can find a deal on a Sl 1200.
 
Great deals are out there for sure but the shop owner should be able to make a few $$$ and hopefully he will stand behind a sale unlike some Craigslist sellers.

Either way, the 202 is a solid table if it's in proper operating condition.

I'll just go ahead and wait man. I do appreciate the quick responses though, you guys rock. Personally I'd rather wait and get a better deal or just jump on a Sl 1200 and stop playing around with these cheaper tables.

No one here can solve your problems for you. You have received some very good advice from myself as well as many others. I suggest you take a step back, stop posting and do more reading and experimenting.

The man wants a better/different deck. And considering the SL-1200 knock-off he's using, I certainly wouldn't hold that against him. I wouldn't hold it against him if he had a Rega P6, and wanted a VPI. I went thru the same thing recently, and in my case, a different table was the only solution.

I never asked anyone to solve my problems mate. I have the final say in anything I do, though I do appreciate any input I'm given. When I start to question advice I'm given is when a person fails to back up their claims with legitimate facts.

I suggest you take it easy on the posts mate. You're coming across as a bit harsh. I'm happy to debate you all day and night, but don't try to order me around. I'll post or not post if I see fit lol. I do appreciate your imput though and I will eventually get your almighty stylus and we'll see if it does eliminate all distortion like you said, and if it does I don't mind admitting I was wrong.

Well, that's what we have been advising him to do, but instead the op buys a cheap stylus and complains that it still sucks...
