Show me your workbench!

We moved a year ago and just now finished the garage in drywall and bright white. I'll have pix up in a couple days but I can tell you, it is a real pleasure working in a big, open, and bright space.

Hey, I've added a bench in the garage since I started this thread!

Here's a mysterious dark shot that obscures the mess a bit...

Hi,njcanuck.
A collection of fishing rods *and* custom fitting hammers? Well done.

Lol. Those are just the hammers I can find. There are just as many more scattered in various tool boxes that get dragged to various projects. Don't get to use the fishing rods nearly as much as I would like even though there's a boat, three kayaks and a canoe out by the shed. Oh, and a fourth one under construction.

Maybe when I fully retire . . . Semi retirement has me too busy.

Love the camping axe - great for seating tubes.

Here's an updated picture from last year, which was probably the last time it was anywhere near this clean.

RCA Jack: In a word, niiiiiiiiiiice!

Martin.M: Any of those Teks a sampling scope? I used to use one when I worked on pulse generators years ago.

My shop lives in the garage.

The leather pad on the 'wheelie' bench is invaluable for preventing stuff from getting scratched up. Need to beef up my electronic diagnostic equipment now that I'm messing more with this stuff.

Nice area. I'm really liking that little lathe !

While most of us are getting by in 10 sq feet of space, ohighway has a 20 by 30 room that he has setup and doesn't use! Yes I'm trying to shame you into getting busy!

We should get together and inhale some solder fumes and put that room to WORK!

As for my space, it's the kitchen counter, or the dining room table, or the wreck room floor. That's why I take my for sale pics outside on a picnic table!

Well..... you're only half right. In reality I've done a fair amount of work in there, mostly refoaming and repairing speakers. And I rebuilt my TD-124 in there and am mid process with the Rek-o-kut B12H.

However I know what you're getting at. Jasondace2b has already been trying to light a fire under me, and now you. Yes, I really need to get into motion on the true electronics stuff, and rebuild an amp or two .

Tell you what, if you actually want to work together and are willing to make the drive, I'll set you up with your own bench.

I lost my 'rough' work bench when we had some renovation done here awhile back. It was a 2' x 8' bench made of plywood and 2x4 studs mounted to the basement wall (there's now an opening to another part of the house where the bench used to be.)

Anyway I saved the two basic parts of that bench , and just finally got around to re-assembling and revising it all at once. Now it's a 4' x 8' free standing bench with storage for 10 plastic tubs underneath along the back part. A lot of it is left over lumber from the home renovation. ( I try and re-use as much as I can versus buying new. )

Just added lighting overhead today. Four 65 watt flood lamps. No shortage of lighting !! Still need to properly fasten down the plywood work surface and mount the vise.
