I went out and ate two bowls of seolleongtang (ox bone soup) to help with my hangover from last night. I tend to eat quite a bit the day after heavy drinking. That was 4 hours ago and now I'm kind of getting hungry again.

I went to a house party at a friend's house and must've drank at a least a bottle of gin and a bottle of scotch on an empty stomach. I hadn't eaten all day and just snacked on some cheese while drinking. Don't remember the taxi ride home but I do remember being woken up by a policeman who asked me to come inside the station after paying for my taxi. Apparently I fell asleep inside the taxi and the driver couldn't wake me up so he drove to the police station near my house. I was invited inside and they asked me a few questions but were very gracious and gave me coffee until I became less groggy and then escorted me home just to make sure I got home safe. Props to the police here in Seoul.

You misspelled samwhich ... <G>

Corned beef is the king of samwhiches here. Local grocery does a killer Ukranian rye bread that's got lots of texture to it. I fry the meat and bread first, then pile on a mix of chopped cabbage, romaine lettuce, onions, and shredded carrot, and top that with 1000 island dressing.

Been a while ... Have to put the fixin's on the grocery list!

Nice to have some specialty meat stores in the 'hood, ain't it? Local butcher on the corner and a nice little Mexican grocery not far down the road.

Couple good ideas there I can ... feed off of. Just pulled some chorizo out of the freezer that will make a nice hash for breakfast and grabbed some chops for dinner while I was at it.

Fer sure ! I also like to cut up some chorizo into chunks, sautee it for a few minutes, and make an omelette with it. Adding some small cubes of cream cheese lends a decadent touch, too. A couple slices of rye toast w/ butter & jelly, and a hot cuppa coffee, and you`ll be ready for the day :-)

Garlic shrimp & chorizo
First time I had the combination of shrimp and chorizo I was very pleasantly surprised.
..and that Corned Beef Club at post #3 reminds me that St Patty's day is just around the corner.
(edit: I realized today that corner is still about a two months walk away :()
Corned Beef and Cabbage followed by Reuben sammiches, mmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm, I can't wait!

Nice. I do something similar although my recipe has been changing over the years. This one was from 2010 and I used to make this as a personal drinking snack at home although sometimes I'd make it for dinner with some jasmine rice. The picture below was from when a couple friends came over for an all night drinking session.

I tend to use kielbasa, shrimp (21/25 size), garlic (sliced), cilantro, sriracha, sambal oelek, onions, jalapeno, mushrooms, scallions, black pepper, sugar, pinch of kosher salt, fresh lime juice, olive oil and butter. These days, I'm adding coconut milk to smooth out the flavors a bit more as well as adding lemongrass for additional flavor.
