Show Us Your Dinner! (Home Cooking ONLY please!)

Nice. I do something similar although my recipe has been changing over the years. This one was from 2010 and I used to make this as a personal drinking snack at home although sometimes I'd make it for dinner with some jasmine rice. The picture below was from when a couple friends came over for an all night drinking session.

I tend to use kielbasa, shrimp (21/25 size), garlic (sliced), cilantro, sriracha, sambal oelek, onions, jalapeno, mushrooms, scallions, black pepper, sugar, pinch of kosher salt, fresh lime juice, olive oil and butter. These days, I'm adding coconut milk to smooth out the flavors a bit more as well as adding lemongrass for additional flavor.

That looks great ! I`ll have to gas up the Gulfstream and fly over to your place for lunch sometime :-)

Fer sure ! I also like to cut up some chorizo into chunks, sautee it for a few minutes, and make an omelette with it. Adding some small cubes of cream cheese lends a decadent touch, too. A couple slices of rye toast w/ butter & jelly, and a hot cuppa coffee, and you`ll be ready for the day :)

Just polished off a chorizo hash made with southern hash browns, peppers, onions, and eggs ...

Oh. The fresh homemade potato bread and fresh ground coffee were nice touches too!

It's what recipes do ... <G>

I like the idea of kielbasa and shrimp ... gonna have to put that on the menu here. Just picked up a few pounds of fresh Polish from an old Polack (I can say that, being an old Polack myself) down the road who makes batches for the holidays and does it right. We worked together for years, and I'm on his short list when he fires up the stuffer!

Now, if I could only talk him into putting up some kiszka ... couple local shops used to make the stuff, but apparently the FDA has made it next to impossible to get some of the ingredients for the old country recipe. :(

Oh yeah! Kielbasa and shrimp. Been doing that for decades in a Low Country Boil.

Saithe fillet with carrots and zucchini cooked in butter, served with rice and mushrooms with a cream sauce. The wine is the same used for the sauce, a white Arbois which fits perfect with this kind of whitefish in sauce.
Actually, i often buy this fish, pretty tasty, easy to cook, lot of different ways of cooking it and, last but not least, not much expensive here in comparison with other whitefish as haddock by example.
Precious alternative to the meat for an everyday dish and a mainstay of my personal cooking.

Had to look up saithe. Come to find out it's fish, and another name for it is ...
(drumroll please)
Pollack!

Seems we got a trend going here ... <G>

For me, fish is more of a deep fried catfish or smelt thing. Something else to try ... been a while since I fired up the old fry daddy ... last time was more of a dessert thing for the holidays. Kruschiki, anyone?

Hey sKiZo, lovin' this thread but no self respectin' Polak would spell that with a C or double L, just sayin'
Now if you could ship me a pound of Chrusciki please, I'd be very appreciative.:D

... and what leads you to believe anything about me is self respectin' anyway? <G>

I can put you on the list for next year, but done right, the stuff's very light and fragile, and barely makes it over to friends in a paper bag ... can't imagine what it'd look like after OOPS or the PO got done with it.

IMG_0399.JPG Some almost home made chicken and dumplings. I used Mary B's frozen dumplings. A good Southern dish, that's easy to make kinda. I will have plenty left for work this weekend.IMG_0399.JPG

Lol people, lot of English terms i've to check in this thread. Actually, it seems to teach me more about English language than about cooking
