Is the Pioneer CT-F1000 a serious improvement over a Pioneer CT-F950?

I have a CT-F1000 and I do have to say I enjoy it a lot. I think it was the top of their line in its year, but then the CT-F1250 came out later. The 950 does record metal tapes which is nice. Both are 3 head if I understand correctly. So I wouldn't call it a "serious improvement", but they are close, with a few feature differences. The 950 actually came out later, and has the fluoroscan display vs the analog meters. I would probably say they are close in performance.
