Skating rink speakers. Any thoughts on what these are ?

[Ohighway]

Anybody recognize these ?

Could be Altec, if that's a horn on top and a 15" woofer underneath.

Gonna need better pics and probably a peek inside.

There's nothing in those pics that i'd hazard a guess on.

Looks like they’re demoing or at least remodeling the place? Yeah tell them you’ll take those old, dirty speakers off their hands for no cost to them

Hope you have a big garage. And then tell us what’s inside

lottery!

just get them!

As rinks go that's full size. Having managed one (big fun) for a few years in the 70's, I can tell you there were many speakers in there, of different types. Usually a "bare" minimum of Altec Voice of the Theater. At least 8. Usually 4 of this and 4 of that. Cheap stage speakers don't get it done in a big rink.
Go get them. All of them. And the gear if you can. It won't be the cheap stuff either.

Nothing to get at this point. Opened in 1956 , permanantly closed in 2015. Bunch of interior stuff sold off in 2018. Building was demolished over the last day or two.

So whatever they are/were ..... either someone bought them in 2018, or they're sitting as rubble on the ground right now.

I thought so.
I got a mix of Hammond and Altec from Alexandria VA rink in 86. Don't know where the big Wurlitzer organ went, it was sold in 79.

lots of rinks in the midwest used McIntosh power as well ...

Hopefully, someone saved the mirror ball!
