My wife just put it on, not sure how synced it will be or if we see anything more than clouds here.

I did get a brief glimpse when the moon was about 20% of the way across the sun but then the clouds thickened.
Hard to tell if I got my timing wrong but it did get seriously dark

Both 'locked' sides see the light and the dark each and every day although one half of the moon is always in the dark.
