He probably has two or three network affiliate sized dishes on his roof and picks up every signal transmitted over satellite.

Looks to me like he could put together nearly any preamp/amp/receiver/TT/speaker combination & have it playing in a matter of minutes. I enjoy his disdain for esoteric tweaks & cables...it's the gear that does the job.

Come visit Hong Kong! I can take you to hear two Everest speakers, in two different set-ups/locations, in one afternoon. [Unless someone buys one of them, first, since technically speaking both are available for sale... but they are so big -and expensive- that they probably won't sell quickly. One has been sitting there a couple of years, the other a couple of months.]

That wall is mighty impressive-looking diffraction! The poor man's version is simple: collect up a bunch of those molded styrofoam packing pieces used to cushion appliances and such inside cardboard shipping cartons. Cut and piece them together so as to make an similar interesting design, with lots of varying-height ins-and-outs. Paint it to match your decor, or coat with acoustic tar-like stuff (dampener) or hide behind sound-permeable cloth panels, if you are afraid someone will guess what it is. Done well, it can look great, and it works well! Such panels also make good (and interesting-looking) ceiling treatments, too. Arranged artfully to simulate growing mini-stalactites, they can make your man-cave really resemble a cave! :yes:
