Soundbars good or bad for audio world ?

I am not a fan of audio fads but I do understand that folks of the younger generation - especially the condo dwellers - do not have a lot of space and would rather try to make their sound system as invisible and/or unobtrusive as possible.

Try fitting a 4 speaker 2channel , stereo in this tiny crevice .

Look how thin these soundbars are , I wonder if you turn them up real loud how ear bleeding the treble Is. they are More the less a fad like Bluetooth , wireless , and home theater in a box .
A fad that’s making companies boatloads of cash . And going to be here to stay for some time . Even high end brands want in the markets .

Kind a wish I still did drugs. These would be awesome threads. :beatnik:

:beerchug:

Yea, brother, I hear you, I seem to remember having to pay Damn good money, to just begin to "approach this level", if I recall !! HA !!
And they would kind of make some sort of sense, "maybe" !?!?
Definitely a adventurous mind twisting thread !!

My home is 1600 sq ft. I have a 4 week old baby. I bought a Sonos soundbar and it way better than tv audio. Wife wouldn't let me get a 5.1 setup and hates subwoofers with a passion (not sure, may be a wife thing?). I use a Sonos connect to send music from Spotify (and my extensive digital library stored on my computer) to my vintage system. Records sound way better, but I don't have the money or space to keep 30,000 songs in analog format. For casual, handsfree music listening, plus non-subwoofer tv audio, sonos has been a good product.

As someone who is not American, and has watched a great many repair vids on YouTube, the American pronunciation of the word 'soldering' does actually sound like 'saudering' to me. It's just one of those things, like when you guys say 'mirror' to me it sounds like 'meer' lol.

Well, that may be so, but the word always sounded like the nick name of guys who lay down sod(sodders) who sodder !
You know, like green side up, a instant yard, just water every day for several weeks.
Usually the L was silent/left out, or some how became lost over time..
Is it Drink-thirty yet ?
