There are two small woofers at the bottom of the cabinets, the midrange is a sealed back so it looks interesting( first picture of me ripping one of the tweeters out.
All tweeters are dead except for 2 on one of them. They are alnico though!
I might just bust them open and salvage the drivers, the midrange is sounding pretty damn good and it seems like a high quality midrange.
Cabinets will go to recycle!
Hmm, tweeters measure open or shorted when unwired and tested individually? what do the 2 good ones measure and how were the four wired up - series then parallel pairs?
Also the woofer openings were different but it looks like the woofers were the same diameter and similar? Obviously the back panel has to come off to get to the woofers unless they glued the panel in.

The is one like rod running through the middle of the speaker held together by two threaded nuts on both ends.
I will pull the monstrosity apart on the weekend and toss the cabinets on the curb.

While I agree that the drivers would be nice to part out if they sound good or have some intrinsic value, I'd suggest the cabinets may also be worth keeping IF they look presentable or could be made that way, and if they are reasonably well built, could be additionally braced, internal corners and joints re-inforced, and a new baffle easily made up.
If you can get the internal dimensions, one could easily fashion a very nice speaker copying a number of designs. For example, if the speaker has an internal volume of 4.5-6 cu. ft., then you could easily build a JBL 2235H based subwoofer or speaker system around that like the L300 / 4333 series, 4430, even the 4 way 4340-4344 in a lowboy configuration. If the speaker is 8 to 10 cu. ft. it could easily accommodate double JBL 2234/2235s ala JBL 4435 easily, or the 4350 type if you're really ambitious and have a lot of extra $$$ for the parts.
Otherwise, consider offering it for free to any BC Ak'ers.

From a distance, they seem like cool MCM cabs. If soild and decent veneer they are well worth salvaging for a project as described.
They are pretty solid but they sound very hollow when knocked on. The veneer is nice but with lots of scratches and a corner or two is smashed.
The baffles are held together by slot screws which I will be taking apart over the weekend to get the drivers out.
If anyone in Toronto would like the cabinets after I butcher them, they are free to anyone.
They are pretty big and I could get measurements later today.

Very curious.
Yeah they were 2 8 inchers, it seems he wired a lot of things in series.
Ill keep the drivers and see if I can do a cool project with them one day or sell them for cheap. The mid range was interesting but after I opened the back it seems like just a full ranger with a ceramic magnet.

I bet at one time those were very good sounding speakers! the cabs look really cool to me!
The cross overs seem very good as I have one cabinet hooked up and 2/4 tweeters are working.
The MF and LF is well separated and I can't seem to hear any of the frequencies leaking over.
Wish I could keep them but the things are monsters and don't go very deep.
