I seen some Ohm C2's in the thrift the other day, unfortunately I already have a pair.
Saw a set of "Ashton" Home Theater speakers at the local SA. I had a feeling they were of the "White Van" variety but wasn't sure until I did a google search. Yep!
Best part..they were priced at $1,700. Easily the most expensive thing I've ever seen at a thrift store. And the least worthy at that!
Was at the SA today and the Ashtons were still there. Now marked down to $1295. "A bargain!" They even printed out an eBay auction showing the BIN price as $3,659.00 and put it on the speakers.
I was going to say something, but figured that they'd just perceive me as some "know it all nut" trying to haggle them down or something.
I'll be curious to see how low they will go.

Advent/3's found at Saint Vincent DePaul. Found one, and had to search for quite some time before I found the second one....... $7 sold!![]()

So since I have a dead tweeter in the 2nd pair of EPI's I decided to refoam another set of speakers and donate those back. They were "AudioPulse" 3-ways with 12-inch woofers - which are not a fantastic speaker but I have seen several examples of them in there and they do sell. Anyway, I show up to donate them and the lady in the store refuses to take them because they are "awash" in speakers ... and of course are having a 50% off sale (see my post re Paradigm Minis). So, I can understand that - bad timing on my part - but this particular lady was more than a little bit snarky about the whole thing - including comments like "nobody wants big speakers anymore". I think I made some comment back to her, after gazing at the shelf of Lloyds, Yorx, Sharp and other assorted no-name speakers (all with non-removable grills of course - see my post also on that one), regarding "throwing out the good speakers while you put the junk on the shelf".
She was, however, more than willing to take my late 60's / early 70's children's wood table and chair set.
She gave me a real dirty look when I walked in there today and an equally dirty look when I was chatting to the older "techie" that does the electronics testing (or maybe it was the newly-arrived 4 large Craig speakers sitting on the floor in his shop area - awash in a sea of speakers, eh?). Anyway I will come up with something else to fire back to them - and give it directly to the techie.
Took my daughter to Sea World in San Antonio this past Thursday. While I was there I figured I would hit a couple of thrift stores. I found a Pioneer Spec 2 amplifier priced for $6.98, as is. I jumped on it and put in on a shopping cart. One channel is out but I am sure worth fixing for the buying price. i will need some advice on what to check. Still, very happy with the find.![]()

Wasn't a thrift store - but I got a lovely Jamo Center 50 in perfect condition for $20 shipped from ebay (!). Heavy little thing it is.
