Spring Twang

been awhile for me, but I would love to attend. Still at Jay's? If not where?
5/16?

My car is pretty much deer roof now:D

Also, it is a truck so it hold more gear.

I am not going to say I'll show and not come, Maybe, I likely won't show and surprise you all. Naw, I'll be there if it is at all possible. - most likely is.

Any Denver locals want to hitch a ride?

I thought I posted this already, but it would be great to see your brother too.

We're getting close Cricket, did you install the deer push bars and high frequency piezo tweeters in your grill yet? :smoke:

Oh, btw, my buddy at Wildlife and Parks said you could go ahead and get your 100 dollar permit now for the one you done kilted a couple years back.

Should I bring ToXXX's Brandy? Will the Scotch collection make an appearance? Inquiring minds!

Who's bringing gear to play? We had some great gear last time, especially the rig in the kitchen. I'm willin' to bring some speakers, maybe the Atlantics since they seem to be well received. Or, we could play with the Altec VOTTs, outdoors obviously. If someone wanted to bring a second amp, we could even biamp them. I have a Hafler P230 and a Behringer active crossover that hasn't been out of the box. It's a lot to get set up so some extra hands would be welcome.

Jay has a couple of Hafler 200 power amps I believe.

I've got a beat up Crown we could use. Not pretty but works well.

Yes I do. I think Jimi Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner cranked to 11 on Votts being fed 200 watts would be terrific on the dock. That way the whole damn lake could enjoy it. They would too, it's a pretty cool lake.:music:

Maybe the biamp/active crossover thing will sound better than my crossovers. Ever since I built em, I haven't been all that happy with the sound, but I haven't had time to tinker with them. It may be the cavernous metal building with concrete floor, or it may be something else. This would be one way to find out. I have 4 ohm CTS woofers in them now, who knows what the impedance mismatch with the 16 ohm Renkus horn drivers is doing to things. We could always drop your 8 ohm woofers in there to demo, if you were up for it.

Much better choice than my D75!

Do you still have those Altec 5158G I sold to Redboy, who then sold them to you? Depending on what cab tox has, they may fit. They were a full 16" if I remember, some older cabs may only fit the earlier drivers. I had them in my cabs, and they now have 416 8C, so they are the same size as those.

Paulc worked out a great passive crossover for my Altecs, Tox if you ever get Altec drivers you should copy it. Even better, you know. I have a set w/ Nice 828 cabs with Altec grills, 416 8C drivers, late model factory dampened 511B horns, 802 8G compression drivers and PaulC's crossovers. They sound marvelous! The crossovers were based on one from Parts Express, with better caps and resistors, and a zobel to correct the high frequency drop inherent in large compression drivers...too big for me to haul for demo....You could use these monsters.

OK, I'm trying to catch up on this thread, because I do love Twang. If this is an open event, I'm really interested in attending.

Did I read that it's in St. Louis, on May 16th? That would be most excellent.

Can someone point me to some details?

Thanks very much - LC
