They played in little Minot, ND back before they were a hit. Great show, I think that I was in the 10th grade.

Sharing Memories
It was the 1970s and I was in my second year of University. My goals for the summer were to buy a TR6, and ride around in it listening to Steely Dan music with a very popular girl that I favored (such important life goals!)
I got the car (it remains to this day one of my favorite cars that I owned), got the girl (thank God I never married her) and enjoyed Steely Dan immensely. Fun, fun summer.
I never got to see Steely Dan live, but in the 1980s was at a Dr. John/Doobie Brothers concert where Jeff "Skunk" Baxter stole the show with his guitar playing. I don't remember the song, but when soloing he broke into the riffs from "reeling in the years".
To this day, I've never tired of listening to Steely Dan music.
