Stylus for Shure V15 RS. Help Please.

Hi All, i have just purchased a turntable and it came with athe Shure V15 Radio Shack Cartridge, and i need to know what stylus i can replace with. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

G'day mate, a 'standard' Shure elliptical stylus for the M97xE will fit that cartridge pefectly (I've done it), and the cartridge will sound exactly like a Shure M97xE as a result.

Hi and thanks for filling me in. Its an expensive game! the TT cost me 10.50 and 15 shipping the stylus will cost £80!! lol. how much is the cartridge worth exactly?

thats not quire so pricey, someone mentioned some jico sas which was $144. scared the lide out of me!

i apologise for my appalling typing this evening! im a litte annoyed i was looking fward to listening to some lps tonight as i only received the turntable tonight, but the stylus is missing the tip! Annoying as i have spent my ebay budget for this month!

G'day all, the V15RS is a bit of a strange one, as apparently quite a few different styli will fit it and give great results and I can certainly highly recommend the Jico SAS styli from personal experience.

The cartridge itself is interesting as I've read quite a few differing opinions on it, per se. Apparently the original stylus was quite an exotic one using a beryllium cantilever and a high quality stylus tip like the latter Shure V15 series. However some dispute this.

It's a bit hard to know what the real truth is, however from actually listening to one, I would call it a very good cartridge and with a top notch stylus installed I think it would be an excellent cartridge. Regards, Felix aka catman.

Have a look at the Shure M97 HE replacement stylus too.

It should sound even better than the elliptical stylus and cost not much more.

Consult Howard and/or others before ordering!!!

Saunders is very good. I used one in my V-15 III before I bought my Jico SAS.
