I have TWO Superscope TDR 830 8-track players, each with its own issues. Does anyone have a link or could possibly send me a pdf of the Service Manual?

If the OP is diving into one or both TD-830’s….

….open up the motors and examine for carbon dust created by the motor brushes.

I have a TD-830 and when acquired, it exhibited a slight bit of motor noise. My intention was to open the motor so as to clean and lube the rotor bushings.

The quantity of black powder I saw inside was startling. It made me think the brushes were totally gone but enough remained for the motor to work.
